Burke thought he's scored a potential winner after a lightning Bremen counter. Schmid bursts into the Pauli half and has options left and right. He slips in Burke, to his left, and the big man slots home from just inside the box. The stadium erupts but the flag is up. It's so tight but Burke does appear to be just off.

The home side are on top now, knocking the ball around well, looking to burst down the wings and just generally being more positive. Pauli camped inside their own half.

He's only been on the pitch for two minutes but already Burke is a handful. He latches onto a long ball down the right, moves into the area and lashes one at Vasilj, who has to be alert.

The Scot finally enters the game for the final 20 minutes or so. Can he make the difference as he has so often lately?

The home side were dominated for long periods in the first half but they're keeping the ball more and making some decent chances so far in the second.

The forward is sent clear down the left flank and races inside with time to pick his spot. He smashes a low effort across goal but Vasilj gets down to parry to safety.

Stage is brought down just outside the Pauli box, to the left-hand side and Ducksch whips in the resulting free kick, finding the onrushing head of Stark. The latter's header is well-placed, down at the foot of the right post, but Vasilj gets across to push it away.

Bremen break down the right flank and cut it back to Schmid, arriving late into the area in a central position. The midfielder takes a moment too long and his shot is deflected. It bounces left, to Stage, who volleys beyond Vasilj and celebrates. Not for long though – flag's up.

Boukhalfa and Friedl challenge for a loose ball and the Pauli man leaves a sore one on his rival, who needs medical attention. There are murmurings of a card for the challenge but the referee isn't having it.

Ducksch whips in a free-kick from the right, deep in Pauli's half, and places it perfectly – just in-behind the defence and begging to be smashed home. Stage gets to it first but his effort balloons over the bar. The linesman had raised his flag but replays show it was a tight call.

The home side build a decent spell of possession and push into the Pauli half, where they search for openings. Better from Bremen.

An underhit backpass almost stitches up Zetterer, but he just manages to clear.

Excellent one-touch football from Bremen, who work the ball through the Pauli half and into the box with a series of neat exchanges. It eventually finds Stage on the right of the box – he smashes a low effort just wide of the far post.
