Watch: Decision Day at Both Ends

The title, Europe, relegation – there’s still so much left to be decided at both ends of the table on the final day of the Bundesliga season.

Stuttgart: personnel

Dan-Axel Zagadou remains a doubt for VfB after going off against Mainz following a clash of heads. However, Borna Sosa is expected to return after missing out with illness, meaning Nikolas Nartey could make way on the left. Chris Führich (pictured with Josha Vagnoman) received plenty of plaudits from coach Sebastian Hoeneß after his goal and two assists off the bench in Mainz, which could result in promotion to the starting XI in place of Tiago Tomas.

Just a second away win of the season last weekend in Mainz and run of only one defeat in the last seven has lifted Stuttgart out of the drop zone and in control of their top-flight survival going into the final day. They are a point ahead of Schalke in 17th and the final automatic relegation spot. They may be level on points with Bochum in the play-off spot, but their vastly superior goal difference effectively counts for an extra point and keeps the 2006 Bundesliga champions in the driving seat and not reliant on other results, if they do their bit at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Experienced defensive duo Pavel Kaderabek and Kevin Vogt have been joined on the sidelines by Kevin Akpoguma for Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side. Dennis Geiger is struggling with a back issue that may force him to sit this one out, but Jacob Bruun Larsen returned to the squad for the first time in 2023 last time out against Union. Andrej Kramaric and Christoph Baumgartner (both pictured) are nailed on for two of the three berths up front.
