SANE NEARLY SEALS IT

Anything Szoboszlai can do, Sane can do too, but Gulacsi does a Neuer to tame the Germany international's stinging shot.
82'

FORSBERG CLOSE!

That was almost it! Forsberg is thwarted by Neuer as Leipzig break and almost level!

CALM BEFORE THE STORM?

It has gone eerily quiet in the Allianz Arena, so quiet that it's easy for everybody to hear Tedesco screaming "only forwards now" to his players. The all-or-nothing moment has arrived for the guests heading into the final 10 minutes.
75'

TWO MINUTES IN

Henrichs has not been on the field for two minutes and his name is in the referee's book, for a lunge that felled Coman.
73'

SZOBOSZLAI STINGER!

Szoboszlai stings the palms of Neuer with a powerful effort – warning enough to Bayern that this game is not over yet!
71'

NEARLY 69!

That would have wrapped it up, but Lewandowski could not quite get his header down to make it 69.
70'

68 AND COUNTING

68 goals after 21 games is a new Bundesliga record, and if they were to continue at this rate, Bayern would end the season with a whopping 110 goals.

THE ONE THAT WENT IN

Lewandowski heads Bayern ahead for the second time.
62'

BIG MISS FOR LEWY!

Most of the Allianz Arena was on its feet, but Lewandowski places his shot just wide of Gulacsi's post! Uncharacteristic miss, although the ball was just a little bit behind him and not even the best player in the world can do much about that.
61'

OLMO AND OUT

It was an impressive return to the starting XI for Olmo, who was lively and dangerous. Fresh legs are now on with Forsberg replacing him, and Haidara on for Laimer.
58'

BAYERN BACK IN FRONT!

Gnabry tries to send the ball into the danger area from the right, but it is turned into his own goal by Gvardiol! Bayern are in front for a third time!

OLMO'S NIGHTMARES

Manuel Neuer may haunt Olmo in his sleep tonight, the Germany No1 saving the third shot from the Spaniard this evening.

TOO MUCH ANGLE...

...even for Angelino, who sends a shot into the side-netting from the tightest of angles.
47'

ALL OR NOTHING

Dominik Szoboszlai comes on for Leipzig in what is quite a gamble, Tedesco seemingly thinking they have to take a risk to try to get something.

140 days since his last Leipzig start, Dani Olmo almost marks his return with a stunner! What an effort, which curls just wide of Neuer's goal.

TEAM NEWS - BAYERN

Julian Nagelsmann has named an unchanged side following the 4-1 victory over Hertha Berlin on Matchday 20. That means Thomas Müller makes his 404th Bundesliga appearance, putting him fifth in the club's all-time chart behind Sepp Maier, Oliver Kahn, Gerd Müller and Katsche Schwarzenbeck.

TEAM NEWS - LEIPZIG

Domencio Tedesco makes three changes from the side that beat Wolfsburg last time out. Klostermann and Mukiele make their first starts of 2022, while Dani Olmo begins a Bundesliga match for the first time since September 2021.

BAYERN STARTING XI

Neuer – Pavard, Süle, Hernandez – Gnabry, Kimmich, Tolisso, Coman – Müller, Sane – Lewandowski

BAYERN SUBS

Ulreich, Upamecano, Richards, Wanner, Sabitzer, Roca, Nianzou, Tillman, Musiala

LEIPZIG STARTING XI

Gulacsi (c) - Mukiele, Orban, Gvardiol - Klostermann, Laimer, Kampl, Angelino - Nkunku, Olmo – Silva

LEIPZIG SUBS

Tschauner, Martinez, Haidara, Poulsen, Forsberg, Szoboszlai, Bonnah, Novoa, Henrichs

NO LEWANDOWSKI GUARANTEE?

The Bayern forward is usually the favourite to score against any opposition, but Leipzig have had his number on several occasions. While the Polish forward does have eight goals in 12 competitive outings against Die Roten Bullen, they have been spread across six games; he has not hit the target against Leipzig in the other six.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

History is very much on Bayern's side in this fixture. Of the 11 Bundesliga meetings so far, the Reds have won six and drawn four, scoring 21 times and conceding just 11. The last two encounters between these two at the Allianz Arena ended in draws, however, with Leipzig earning their solitary victory back in March 2018.

WATCH: PREVIOUS MEETING: LEIPZIG 1-4 BAYERN

Robert Lewandowski, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane fired Bayern into a 3-0 lead before the hour-mark when the teams last met, on Matchday 4 earlier this season. Stefan Laimer pulled a goal back for Leipzig, but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting had the final say with a stoppage-time strike to round out the win.

FORM - LEIPZIG

Leipzig come into this one on the back of a four-game winning run in all competitions, triumphing in all four matches they played in January. A 2-0 defeat by Bielefeld at the end of December is the only blot on Tedesco's copy book since taking over, and the tactician has otherwise picked up 13 of 18 available points since picking up the reins from Jesse Marsch.

FORM - BAYERN

The defending champions have actually earned more points on the road (25) than at home (24) in the Bundesliga this season, having won 10 and lost two at the Allianz Arena so far in 2021/22. In fact, Bayern suffered defeat on their last home outing - a 2-1 reverse against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 7 January. However, they had won seven in all competitions before that, and have won both games since.

THE STAKES

Bayern are six points clear at the top and will be keen to extend their lead here with a view to increasing the pressure on second-placed Borussia Dortmund to follow suit. BVB have a tough game at home to Leverkusen tomorrow, so this could prove to be a decisive weekend at the top of the standings. Leipzig have climbed to sixth in recent weeks under the guidance of new coach Domenico Tedesco, and will want to build on that momentum with a morale-boosting result in Munich.
