THANKS FOR JOINING US!

We hope you enjoyed our live coverage of what turned out to be a one-sided encounter between Frankfurt and Bayern. Do hang around on bundesliga.com though - the highly anticipated Berlin derby is coming up in around an hour's time!

BIGGEST WIN SINCE 1980

That was Frankfurt's biggest win over Bayern since April 1980, when they also won 5-1 in the UEFA Cup semi-finals (after extra time). The Eagles went on to lift the trophy by beating Gladbach in the final.

FULL-TIME!

The game got a whole lot easier for Frankfurt when Bayern had Jerome Boateng sent off on 9 minutes, but Adi Hütter's men still had to get the job done. A superb night for the Eagles, who climb to fifth in the table. One to forget for the champions, who slip to fourth.

Frankfurt get the second half underway. Can 10-man Bayern turn this one around?

A WOEFUL WARM-UP FOR DER KLASSIKER

Bayern have the small matter of a clash with Borussia Dortmund next Saturday, although they will be back on home soil at the Allianz Arena. The champions will have an opportunity to bounce back on Wednesday as they host Olympiacos in the Champions League. It's all over!
87'

FRANKFURT KEEP COMING

The home side are enjoying themselves now. Danny da Costa comes striding forward and tries to add a sixth, but his low effort is saved by Neuer. The stadium cameras pan onto a pensive-looking Niko Kovac. It's been a miserable afternoon for the former Frankfurt boss.

FIVE-STAR FRANKFURT!

What was I saying about the strikers! Brilliant work from Andre Silva, who takes it around Alaba before squaring for Paciencia to tap in a FIFTH goal for Eintracht Frankfurt. The Eagles are flying.
81'

WHO NEEDS STRIKERS?

Our stats guys have just pointed out that Frankfurt's four goals today have been scored by defenders and midfielders. Frontmen Paciencia and Dost certainly played their part though! The game is quietly petering out, with the Eagles happy to sit back and hit Bayern on the counter.
77'

FRANKFURT CLOSING THE GAP

Assuming the Eagles don't throw it away from here, they will be a point behind Bayern in the table. The champions are set to slip to fourth behind Gladbach, Dortmund and Leipzig, all of whom are currently winning.
74'

BAYERN BRITTLE AT THE BACK

This is already the fifth time this season that Bayern have conceded at least two goals in the Bundesliga. They last time they let in four was back in April, when they beat Heidenheim 5-4 in a slightly bonkers DFB Cup tie.
70'

DAVIES OFF THE POST!

The Canadian almost gets a goal to celebrate his 19th birthday, but it clips the outside of the post and goes out for a goal-kick. Still 20 minutes to go.
68'

KOSTIC VS. NEUER

The battle continues and again the Germany No.1 comes out on top. A sweetly struck low drive from Kostic, but Neuer gets a strong hand on it to keep the scoreline at 4-1.
66'

THREE IN FOUR FOR HINTEREGGER

While the other Frankfurt goalscorers tonight have all netted for the first time this season, the Austrian defender is up to three in four competitive outings.
64'

KOSTIC NEARLY MAKES IT FIVE!

The Serbian finds himself in space on the left, but his effort is deflected by Neuer and Davies manages to clear off the line. Frankfurt look like scoring every time they go forward at the moment.
62'

HINTEREGGER JOINS THE PARTY

Two of Frankfurt's centre-backs are now on the scoresheet. Bas Dost forced a brilliant save from Neuer with a side-footed effort from inside the area, and it went behind for a corner, which was beautifully whipped in for Martin Hinteregger to nod home. They are loving this at the Commerzbank-Arena!

WHAT A TACKLE FROM ABRAHAM

Not only did he just get his first Bundesliga goal since September 2016, the Frankfurt captain is also doing his job at the back for the hosts. A brilliant last-ditch tackle to prevent Lewandowski getting a second.
58'

COMAN ON

The Frenchman does indeed replace Coutinho. Gnabry manages to get to the byline for Bayern but his cross into the middle is beyond Lewandowski and the Eagles get the danger clear.
56'

CLOSE!

Almost a fourth for Frankfurt! A long ball from Kostic to Bas Dost, who crosses for Paciencia, but his effort whistles just over the bar.
54'

COMAN GETTING READY

Bayern are about to make a change and bring on the Frenchman. For Coutinho, perhaps? This hasn't been a vintage performance from the Brazilian.
53'

ULREICH BOOKED

Sven Ulreich has managed to pick up a yellow card despite being on the bench. I'm assuming he must have said something to the fourth official...
50'

ABRAHAM!

It's a first goal in three years for the Frankfurt captain! The ball in from Danny da Costa out on the right flank is inch-perfect, and the Argentine simply has to stab it home to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead. That was a superb assist.

BAYERN ON THE FRONT FOOT

Thiago finds himself in a yard of space and tries to thread a ball through to Kimmich, but it's overhit and the Germany man can't stop it going out for a goal kick.

NO CHANGES AT THE BREAK

We're back underway with the same 21 players who finished the first half.

10 IN A ROW FOR LEWY

Another week, another record for Lewandowski, who becomes the first player to score in 10 consecutive Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich. It has been done before at other clubs - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund in 2015, and Klaus Allofs at Cologne in 1984 - but in both cases they netted their goals across two seasons.

HALF-TIME!

Well that was something. The big moment of the game came in the first 10 minutes as Jerome Boateng was shown a straight red card for bringing down Goncalo Paciencia. Frankfurt made the most of their extra man, with Filip Kostic and Djibril Sow getting their first goals of the season - but Bayern are still alive after a superb effort from their goal machine Robert Lewandowski, who is already up to 14 for the campaign. There were nine shots for the hosts and just three for the champions, but it ain't over yet.

TWO MINUTES OF TIME ADDED ON

I think we're all ready for a lie-down.

14 IN 10 FOR LEWY!

Robert Lewandowski has now scored an outrageous 14 goals in 10 league games this season. The only man to have previously managed that feat in Bundesliga history was the great Gerd Müller, who nabbed 15 in the first 10 games of the 1968/69 campaign.
38'

STUNNING FROM LEWANDOWSKI

Lest we forget, this guy is the best striker in world football right now. He makes this one from nothing, spinning away from three Frankfurt players on the edge of the area, surging forward and slipping home to give Bayern hope. His record scoring run continues.

KIMMICH GOAL DISALLOWED

It really isn't Bayern's day so far. Gnabry slides a ball through to his Germany teammate Kimmich, who slams past Rönnow - but the flag is up for offside. Correct decision. But now Lewy HAS got one!
34'

SOW OPENS HIS BUNDESLIGA ACCOUNT

This is a lovely goal from the hosts, even if they get a slice of luck at the end of it. After a series of slick, one-touch passes - including a couple of tasty backheels - Kostic's cross takes a deflection off Kimmich and falls nicely for Sow, who hammers in his first goal in the Bundesliga.

27TH TIME LUCKY FOR KOSTIC

Until his opener, Kostic had the dubious honour of being the Bundesliga player who'd had the most shots on goal without scoring this season. Finally, with his 27th effort, the Serbian is up and running.
28'

BAYERN LOOK TO HIT BACK

Coutinho plays a beautifully weighted pass in behind the Frankfurt defence for Kimmich, but his cross is a little too close to Rönnow and the home keeper gathers.
25'

KOSTIC OPENS HIS ACCOUNT

It's a bit of a scrappy one for Frankfurt but they won't care! Danny da Costa whips in a ball from the right, Djibril Sow's effort takes a rather fortunate deflection off Alaba, and Kostic simply has to steer it in at the back post to get his first goal of the campaign.

ALABA AND PAVARD AT CENTRE-BACK

David Alaba has shifted into central defence in place of Boateng, alongside Pavard, with Davies dropping to left-back and Kimmich out on the right. But Frankfurt have just found a way through!
20'

LÖW WATCHING ON

Germany boss Joachim Löw is in the stands for this one. Die Mannschaft will be looking to secure their place at UEFA Euro 2020 later this month in their final qualifiers against Belarus and Northern Ireland.
18'

AND BREATHE...

The game has just settled down a little in the past few minutes, with Frankfurt - as you'd expect - in control of possession. Bayern should never be underestimated of course, but with 10 men and a somewhat makeshift defence this is going to be tough.
15'

DAVIES ON THE CHARGE

Birthday boy Alphonso Davies has a go from the edge of the area, and then tries to get a cross in, but Frankfurt get it clear. What a crazy first 15 minutes to this game, it's been breathless.
13'

BAYERN DOWN TO 10

Phew, that was all a bit chaotic. Bayern were actually on the attack just before Boateng was dismissed, but Coutinho couldn't quite control a pass from Gnabry and Frankfurt hit on the counter. Boateng brought down Paciencia right on the edge of the area, and was adjudged - after a VAR referral - to have done so as the last man.
11'

PACIENCIA!

Paciencia's free-kick is blocked by the wall, and his second attempt - deflected - is well saved by Neuer. Can Bayern weather the storm here? It's all Frankfurt at the moment.
11'

NO PENALTY

It isn't a penalty, sorry about that. Bit of confusion about the decision from the VAR there. Frankfurt with a free-kick on the edge of the area, Bayern down to 10 men.
9'

PENALTY AND RED CARD!

It IS a penalty. And Jerome Boateng is off! Disaster for Bayern Munich.
8'

PENALTY FOR FRANKFURT!

But was it inside the box? VAR will check...

CLOSE!

A lovely backheel from Kostic puts Paciencia in on the left, but his cross for Dost is well intercepted by Manuel Neuer. Frankfurt just starting to slip through the gears here, Bayern look a tad shaky at the back.
4'

KOSTIC FROM DISTANCE

Filip Kostic finds himself in a bit of space about 30 yards out and has a go, but it's wide of the mark. Frankfurt are pushing high up the pitch at the moment as Bayern look to play out from the back.
2'

EARLY BAYERN PRESSURE

Lewandowski comes charging down the left for Bayern in the very first minute and looks to slip in Gnabry, but Frankfurt manage to get the danger clear. About 45 seconds later, the Germany winger flashes an effort wide of the post. A positive start from the champions!

FORTRESS FRANKFURT

The Eagles have the best home record in the Bundesliga this season, with three wins and two draws in five outings. Can Bayern become the first team to win here this term? Can Frankfurt stop Lewandowski from scoring?

HASEBE ON THE BENCH

Makoto Hasebe - who had started every minute in the Bundesliga this season - is on the bench for Frankfurt today. The players are in the tunnel - kick-off is just a few minutes away!

PACIENCIA IS A VIRTUE

This is already the 21st competitive outing of Frankfurt's season, which began with a Europa League qualifier in Estonia on 25 July. The only man to have appeared in every game is forward Goncalo Paciencia, who grabbed a brace in the 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen last month.

MÜLLER IN ESTEEMED COMPANY

The list of Bayern players with 500 or more appearances is basically a who's who of club legends: Sepp Maier (633), Oliver Kahn (632), Gerd Müller (567), Klaus Augenthaler (548), Hans-Georg Schwarzenbeck (540), Franz Beckenbauer (535), Philipp Lahm (517), Bernd Dürnberger (503), Bastian Schweinsteiger (500) and, in around 15 minutes, Thomas Müller (500). Quite a dream dinner party.

MUNICH MILESTONES

Thomas Müller isn't the only man celebrating this afternoon. Red-hot Robert Lewandowski - who is bidding to extend his record start to the season by netting in a 10th straight league game - is making his 300th Bundesliga outing, while Alphonso Davies - in the starting line-up with David Alaba for the first time - turns 19 today. Will Niko Kovac's side be toasting these milestones tonight with three points?

500 NOT OUT FOR MÜLLER

Thomas Müller enters the Bayern history books in Frankfurt this afternoon as he becomes just the 10th man to make 500(!) competitive appearances for the club. Not bad for a player who only turned 30 in September. He made his senior debut for the Bavarians giants as an 18-year-old on the opening day of the Bundesliga in 2008/09.

BAYERN STARTING XI

Neuer (c) – Kimmich, Pavard, Boateng, Alaba – Thiago – Gnabry, Müller, Coutinho, Davies – Lewandowski

FRANKFURT STARTING XI
