Stefan Leitl's view on Eintracht
"I expect my team to perform similarly to how they did against Schalke. We did many things well, we implemented many things well. If we manage to push the ball over the line in the end, it would look very good."
Daniel Scherning's view on Hertha
"With Cuisance, Maza and Reese, they have exceptional players in their ranks who could easily play in the Bundesliga next year. We are prepared for their individual quality, which we will have to counter with our team unity and a collective performance."
Spectacular cup encounters
Eintracht have celebrated several DFB Cup successes against Hertha, with the last two meetings particularly spectacular. In July 2022 (4-4, 10-9 after penalties) and in September 2020 (5-4), there were wild goal fests at Hamburger Straße with a total of 17 goals, with second-division Braunschweig prevailing against top-flight Hertha on both occasions.
It's been a while
Braunschweig's last competitive victory against the Berliners was a 2-1 home win in Bundesliga 2 in October 1991 under manager Werner Fuchs; Holger Aden scored the winning goal, while Mario Basler was on the pitch for the Berlin side.
Advantage Hertha?
Hertha have not lost any of their last nine league matches against Braunschweig (six wins, three draws).
