Full-time: Hannover 1-1 Eintracht Braunschweig
Knight's header in stoppage time rescues a point for Hannover 96. Hannover were the more active side for long stretches of the match, but Eintracht struck clinically through Tempelmann. Ultimately, the draw is a fair result, although it feels fortunate for Hannover due to the late equaliser.

That was close!
Szabó receives the ball at the edge of the penalty area, centrally in front of goal, and immediately goes for the shot. His effort whistles just over the crossbar. Zieler probably wouldn't have reached that one.
63'
Severe collision
Ngankam is back on his feet, but it doesn't look good for Köhler at all. The Eintracht midfielder is carried off the pitch by the medical staff to applause from the stands.

No compelling actions
At the moment, the play is constantly back and forth. Both teams are making efforts, but currently can't find a way through. Lee plays it out to the right to Dehm during a Hannover 96 attack. His cross is cleared for a corner. However, this corner doesn't pose any danger.

Half-time: Hannover 0-0 Braunschweig
No goals yet in the Lower Saxony derby. Hannover were the slightly more dangerous side in a match with few chances. The three interruptions haven't helped the flow of the game either. Both teams will want to step up their performance in the second 45 minutes to secure the derby victory.

Zieler!
Now Zieler can also distinguish himself! After a cross from the left side, Philippe gets a completely free shot in the centre. Zieler extends his left hand and fishes the leather out of the corner. A goal wouldn't have counted anyway. The Braunschweig striker was offside.

Hannover dangerous again

7'
Unusual derby atmosphere
It's unusually quiet in the stadium. Due to the reduced away fan allocation, both sets of supporters are refraining from organised support.
2'
First attempt by 96ers
Braunschweig can only clear a cross from the left side insufficiently. Rochelt gets a shot off from the left inside the penalty area. However, this poses no problems for Hoffmann in the Braunschweig goal.

Back on the bench
Dehm is back in the squad after suspension, but it's Muroya who is preferred to start. Matondo is also back in the matchday squad, giving Hannover's coach another option in attack.
Philippe's milestone
In a derby and making his 50th Bundesliga 2 appearance, today would be the perfect time for Rayan Philippe to end his 11-match goal drought.
Also three changes for the visitors
Visiting Braunschweig make three changes to their starting line-up s well. Nikolaou, Kaufmann and Köhler replace Ehlers, Rittmüller and Gómez in Daniel Scherning's team.

André Breitenreiter on facing Eintracht Braunschweig
"The team's progress is really good and not finished yet. That's why it's about delivering the best possible performance on Sunday. We want to keep all three points in Hannover."
Daniel Scherning on facing Hannover 96
"I can only speak for myself, but of course I'm really looking forward to the match on Sunday. It's an extraordinary game and an extraordinary derby in Germany. I get to experience it for the third time now."
First New Signing
During the week, the club from Lower Saxony presented their first new acquisition: Felix Roggow, who has signed for Hannover 96 from Borussia Dortmund II (BVB's reserve team).
Where it all began
For the Norwegian Håvard Nielsen, Braunschweig was the first of his six clubs - so far - in Germany. He scored 12 goals in 48 competitive matches for Eintracht and was relegated with them from the Bundesliga in 2014.
Long time ago
Braunschweig's last away victory in Hannover was 32 years ago. In February 1993, Eintracht won 1-0 in Bundesliga 2 despite an early red card (Sergey Fokin in the 23rd minute) thanks to a goal from Ralf Heskamp.
Hannover with home advantage?
In the 2-0 loss in Hannover last season, Braunschweig's 10 men (Jannis Nikolaou was sent off after a second yellow card in the 57th minute) failed to register a shot on goal. Hannover, meanwhile, are unbeaten at home against Eintracht in five matches (three wins, two draws), having lost only one of their last 14 home games against the same opponents.
Statistics favour Eintracht
Braunschweig have lost only one of their last five derbies against Hannover (2-0 away in November 2023) and have kept clean sheets in their last two matches against their local rivals (2-0 home win in the reverse fixture this term, 0-0 at home in April 2024).
Traditional Derby
Hannover and Braunschweig are separated by only 55 kilometres and previously played together in the top flight in 11 seasons (most recently in 2013/14).
