Who is Paris Brunner?

Eagle eyes among you may have noticed a new name on the Dortmund bench. Paris Brunner makes his senior matchday squad debut, fresh from helping Germany win the U17 World Cup. The 17-year-old forward also picked up the Fritz Walter award as the best German player in his age group earlier this year. He has scored 10 goals in eight U19s league matches so far this term.

"We have a tough match ahead of us. We know their strengths, and what we need to do better after the Stuttgart game. We made far too many mistakes and lost the ball in key areas. We can't do that against Leipzig."

Rose's view on Dortmund

"Stuttgart played really well against them in the DFB Cup. So we're expecting to come up against a different BVB side, especially considering the pressure they're under to perform. We're going to have to be really switched on. I think that their players are feeling a bit annoyed with themselves. We can expect a real fight from the get-go. We'll have to deal with their pace, attacking dynamism and quality. That's why it'll be important to try and play the way we want to."

Wounded Dortmund

BVB picked up a positive result with their 1-1 draw in Leverkusen last weekend, but spirits were dampened on Wednesday when they were outplayed and outclassed by a vibrant VfB Stuttgart side in the DFB Cup round of 16, with Dortmund exiting the competition on the back of a 2-0 defeat.
