ADDED TIME

There will be at least four more minutes in Bremen.
90'

HANGING IN THERE?

Bremen have only had five attempts on goal this half, with none for Füllkrug or Ducksch. But they're still going top as it stands.

ONE MORE CHANCE?

Dresden top scorer Daferner had just one shot today, but Königsdörffer got the goal. Either way, both are off with two fresh strikers on for the final five or so minutes.

DRESDEN NOW LEADING SHOT COUNT

But they have only scored one goal in the final 15 minutes of games this season. That was Mai in the 2-0 win against Hannover on Matchday 3.

FINAL PUSH

The home support let out a road of "Werder, Werder!" as they sense their team need a final push going into the last 20 minutes.
67'

LIKE FOR LIKE

Fresh legs for both sides but no tactical change with all three substitutions being more or less like for like.
62'

HOUR GONE

Normally the time we start to see changes being made. Neither coach sees the need yet, though.
60'

KÖNIGSDÖRFFER!

The Dresden goalscorer is through up the left and not being caught. He opens his body trying to curl past Pavlenka but finds no way through the Bremen goalkeeper.

La valeur xBut du club est calculée en additionnant toutes les probabilités de buts (buts et tirs) générées par l’équipe. Au cours d’un match, on peut ainsi facilement savoir si l’équipe est plus efficace qu’attendu (buts > xBut).
The stats suggest that Dresden should be ahead based on the chances both teams have had, but it's Bremen who have made the most of what they've created.

CLOSE FOR BITTENCOURT!

Corner from the right is met by the head of the unmarked Bittencourt. He doesn't really get power behind it from 10 yards, which allows Mitryushkin to scramble across and claw it away from his bottom left corner.
47'

LATE BLOOMERS

Dresden have scored 18 of their 24 goals this season in the second half of matches. They got two when they beat Werder 3-0 in the reverse fixture.

BACK UNDER WAY

No changes for either side after an entertaining first 45 minutes.

WHAT A PARTNERSHIP

Bremen's last eight goals have been scored by Niclas Füllkrug (five) or Marvin Ducksch (three).

KADE!

Should Dresden be back level? Kade will certainly think so when he sees this chance again, getting up above Veljkovic at the far post but planting his header over the bar.
45'

BREMEN TURN IT AROUND!

Dresden struck early in the half but it's Bremen who do so late to turn the game on its head. A simple cross from the inside right and Füllkrug is completely unmarked. And his header is too much for Mitryushkin.
42'

DUCKSCH!

The top scorer is given time and space down the left to pick out his spot, trying to bend it into the far corner but can't quite hit the target.
39'

NEARLY AGAIN FROM DRESDEN

They have definitely found a second wind in this half and Königsdörffer comes close to restoring the lead as he gets onto a cutback from the right. Pavlenka makes the stop with his foot, though.
33'

AKOTO!

Dresden suddenly come back out of their shell and right-back Akoto has a crack from a good 20 yards. Pavlenka is again forced to parry it around his post.

TURNAROUND

All four Dresden shots came in the first five minutes. It's been pretty much all Werder since then.

BITTENCOURT!

Almost a touch of magic from the experienced midfielder. He's found in the box but has his back to goal, so tries an audacious flick over his head to the far corner. It only just goes over and produces a wry smile from the 28-year-old.

FÜLLKRUG FORM

The Bremen man has seven goals in his last seven games. And even though he's now got 12 for the season, this was his first in the first half of a match.
16'

WE'RE LEVEL!

Lovely play by Die Grünweißen as they carve Dresden open. Through ball into the box. Füllkrug touches it off to Ducksch, who returns first time as well. The Bremen No.11 then takes a touch and finishes past Mitryushkin for his 12th of the campaign.
10'

FÜLLKRUG!

Lovely skill from the Bremen forward as he cuts inside his man and is clear to shoot inside the box, but doesn't get enough power behind it and it's straight at Mitryushkin.
8'

A NOVELTY

It's the first time Bremen have fallen behind at home under Ole Werner. But no team in the division has won more times from losing positions this season than Werder (three, including twice under Werner).
5'

MAI!

The Dresden man has a crack from the edge of the area and forced Pavlenka into a diving stop high to his right. Another corner for the visitors, but this one poses much less danger than the first two.
4'

WERDER LOOK TO RESPOND

Straight up the other end, Ducksch is played clear through - no flag - but drags his effort wide from the inside right.
2'

ACTUALLY, IT IS THE PERFECT START!

The second corner does the trick as Knipping again gets his head to the delivery and flicks it at goal. Königsdörffer is running in at the back post and just throws a thigh at it for his fourth goal of the season but first of 2022.
2'

ALMOST A PERFECT START

A Dynamo corner is flicked on at the front post and then headed back across by Knipping, with Pavlenka doing well to claw it away at full stretch.
Coup d’envoi!

MINUTE'S SILENCE

As at ever game this weekend across the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, there's a minute's silence for the victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The DFL condemns the Russian attack on Ukraine in the strongest possible terms. War in any form is unacceptable – and incompatible with the values of sport.

HERE COME THE TEAMS

Kick-off is only a few minutes away in Bremen...

‘THE UGLY DUCKLINGS’

They’ve jokingly nicknamed themselves the ugly ducklings but there’s nothing unsightly about Niclas Füllkrug and Marvin Ducksch’s goalscoring. Bremen are averaging almost three goals per game under Werner, for 26 goals in nine matches. Dresden as a team have only scored 23 all season – with three against Werder. The striker duo alone have a combined 25 this season in Bremen colours. Ducksch leads the division for shots and clear-cut chances. However, he’s already faced Dynamo twice this season with Werder and Hannover, failing to score and losing both.

A SHOCK RESULT

This is Dresden’s first visit to Werder to face their first team since 1995 in the Bundesliga, when they lost 1-0. But the first-ever meeting in Bundesliga 2 earlier this season threw up a real shock as Dynamo claimed a 3-0 victory – their biggest win of the season and also Bremen’s heaviest defeat.

CAPRETTI IN

Dresden’s form has been quite the opposite. The promoted side had a good first half to the season with 22 points, but are yet to win in 2022 and only scored three goals. Results elsewhere this weekend have seen them drop to 16th, their lowest position this season. The club dismissed Alexander Schmidt during the week and replaced him with Guerino Capretti, who has been given a chance at this level for the first time after five highly successful years in charge of now third-tier side Verl.

PROMOTION IN SIGHT?

Bremen will return to the top of the Bundesliga 2 table with victory this afternoon, after Darmstadt and Pauli won already this weekend to move into the top two. Die Grünweißen have been absolutely flying under Ole Werner, earning 25 of a possible 27 points in nine games. It’s five more than they picked up in the first 15 matches without him, taking them from 10th to the summit. Since the introduction of three points for a win in 1995, every team leading the table after 24 matchdays has been promoted.

MAIBE, MAIBE NOT

Sebastian Mai has been given his first start since Matchday 7 at Darmstadt, meaning he’s gone half a season without featuring from the off. His return to the side has come on a good day, as he could potentially face off against his younger brother Lars. He starts on the bench for Werder.

DRESDEN TEAM NEWS

A change of coach but only three new faces in the team for Dresden as Guerino Capretti takes charge of his first game. Tim Knipping, Sebastian Mai and Morris Schrötter are the three to come in compared to the side that started last week’s loss to Darmstadt that spelled the end of Alexander Schmidt. Captain Yannick Stark misses out through suspension, while Kevin Ehlers and Patrick Weihrauch drop to the bench. It’s Knipping’s first appearance since 21 August after a cruciate ligament injury. Dynamo are unbeaten in his last 10 appearances (W8, D2).

BREMEN TEAM NEWS

Never one to tinker unless he has to, Ole Werner makes just one enforced change to the side that beat HSV 3-2 last week. It sees the suspended Romano Schmid replaced in midfield by Niklas Schmidt, who makes his first start since Matchday 11.
