Coming into this tournament, Díaz enjoyed a fantastic first season at Bayern, scoring 26 goals in all competitions as he won the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup with his teammates. Here, he has a goal and an assist, with both coming in the opening win over Uzbekistan.

Former Mainz and Cologne forward Jhon Córdoba picked up an injury early in Colombia's victory over Ghana in the last round, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament. He's replaced here by Luis Suárez (c.) up top in the only change from head coach Nestor Lorenzo.

"It would be a huge loss if they can't play tomorrow," said Switzerland coach Murat Yakin at his pre-match press conference of Johan Manzambi and former Bundesliga duo Rubén Vargas and Djibril Sow. But Die Nati now know they will definitely be without the Freiburg midfielder after he injured his knee in final training and will only be a spectator in Vancouver. It is indeed a substantial blow with the loss of one of the tournament's breakout stars.

Colombia beat Switzerland 2-0 in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 1994 - one of two wins for Los Cafeteros in four meetings with Die Nati down the years. The South American side also won 3-1 in a friendly in March 2007, with Switzerland’s only victory (3-2) coming in a friendly 16 years earlier.

Luis Díaz was on target as Colombia began their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan, before a 1-0 win against DR Congo and a goalless draw with Portugal confirmed their place in the round of 32 as Group K winners. Los Cafeteros then defeated Ghana 1-0 to edge into the round of 16.

How they got here: Switzerland

Had it not been for a stoppage-time own goal by Miro Muheim in their Group B opener, Switzerland would be heading into the round of 16 with a 100 percent record. Murat Yakin’s team recovered from that 1-1 draw against Qatar with wins over Bosnia and Herzegovina (4-1) and co-hosts Canada (2-1) before easing to a 2-0 victory over Algeria in the round of 32.
