Despite their illustrious history, Brazil have failed to beat Norway in all four matches between the two. Their sole match-up at the World Cup ended in a 2-1 victory for Norway, in France in 1998.

In search of a sixth World Cup trophy, it has been up and down for Brazil so far. They struggled for periods of their opening 1-1 draw with Morocco, before defeating Haiti and Scotland comfortably to top the group. Against Japan in the round of 16, they fell behind, but a strong second half saw them turn things around to prevail.

In their first appearance at the World Cup since 1998, Norway have impressed. Led by former Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, they won both of their first two matches against Senegal and Iraq, with Haaland netting a brace on each occasion. He and nine other teammates were rested for their final group-game loss to France, but he returned to the team and found of the back of net - like RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa - in the 2-1 round of 16 triumph over Ivory Coast.
