How they got here: Scotland

Steve Clark's team qualified for their first World Cup since 1998 in style, topping a group featuring Denmark, Greece and Belarus. They clinched their place at the tournament with a dramatic 4-2 victory over the Danes, thanks in part to a stunning Scott McTominay overhead kick and a spectacular long-range goal from Kenny McLean.

How they got here: Haiti

Haiti finished second - behind Germany's Group E opponents Curaçao - in the second group stage of CONCACAF qualifying before topping a section featuring Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua in the third round to reach the finals for only the second time in their history. The Caribbean island nation finished bottom of their group in their only previous appearance in 1974, losing to Italy, Poland and Argentina.
