Pharaohs make history

Egypt got their first-ever win at the World Cup finals and have taken control of Group G after coming from behind to beat New Zealand in Vancouver. Finn Surman's header from a corner had put the All Whites - themselves still seeking a first World Cup victory - ahead early on, but the Pharaohs struck back in the second half through Mostafa Zico, Mohamed Salah (pictured) and Trezequet. Former Frankfurt, Wolfsburg and Stuttgart forward Omar Marmoush started for Egypt, with ex-Bayern, Nuremberg and Regensburg playmaker Sarpreet Singh playing for the Oceania representatives.
