Group H is finely poised after the first round of fixtures after Uruguay hit back to draw with Saudi Arabia, following Spain and Cape Verde's earlier stalemate. Abdulelah Al Amri put the Saudis ahead before half-time in Miami before Maxi Araújo made one of Uruguay's 27 attempts count to equalise in the 80th minute. Former Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke and St. Pauli midfielder Rodrigo Zalazar was an unused substitute for Marcelo Bielsa's South Americans.

How they got here: Uruguay

Uruguay finished fourth - two places behind Germany's Group E opponents Ecuador - to secure a fifth straight World Cup appearance. La Celeste won the inaugural tournament in 1930 and won it again 20 years later. The latest they've come in recent history is finishing fourth in South Africa in 2010.
