Mainz will be without Colombian goal threat Jhon Cordoba for the visit of Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, with the striker sent off in the 3-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 16. With Yunus Malli having moved onto VfL Wolfsburg, the extra creative burden in midfield will fall on Levin Öztunali, who is likely to get the nod in midfield ahead of Jairo Samperio.

Dortmund should welcome back top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the starting line-up, with the Gabon captain making an earlier-than-expected return from the Africa Cup of Nations. Despite scoring from centre-forward in last Saturday’s 2-1 at SV Werder Bremen, Andre Schürrle will have to settle for a place on the wing at best as a result. Roman Bürki has made a quick recovery from a broken hand, meanwhile, and could replace Roman Weidenfeller in goal.
