Albin Edkal and Emir Spahic did not train with the rest of the team on Wednesday, which makes it unlikely they will play. Dennis Diekmeier and Cleber are both back from suspension. Luca Waldschmidt is likely to replace Bobby Wood after he was sent off in the 3-0 defeat to 1. FC Köln.

Marco Reus has been training with the team of two weeks now and is getting closer to returning to fitness but is still not ready for this match. Thomas Tuchel is expected to make three changes from the side that drew 0-0 in the Revierderby, with Andre Schürrle set to make his first start since returning from injury. Shinji Kagawa, USMNT starChristian Pulisic and Felix Passlack are likely to be replaced by Schürrle, Gonzalo Castro and Raphael Guerreiro. Tuchel has said Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will return to the side after the 1-0 victory in the Champions League. Emre Mor is back from suspension.
