Munich - FC Bayern München will play record Mexican champions Club Deportivo Guadalajara Chivas as part of their stateside preparations for the 2014/15 campaign.

The second stop of the Audi Summer Tour 2014 takes place at the Red Bull Arena on 31 July (kick-off 20:00 PST/ 05:00 CET +1 day), a week before Pep Guardiola's men line up for the MLS All-Star game in Portland, Oregon on 6 August.

'Really pleased'

"We're delighted to be able to organise the USA tour alongside our long-term partners Audi," said board member Jörg Wacke on the subject of Bayern's first transatlantic trip since 2004. "New York's a great place to stop off on the tour. We opened our first offices over there in April."

As well as winning 11 first division titles and two Copa Mexico trophies, Chivas are the only club in the country to exclusively field Mexican players. "It's going to be Mexico's most popular team against the European champions," enthused the club's sporting director Juan Francisco. "We're really pleased to be part of such a big event."
