Munich - FC Bayern München will travel stateside as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2014/15 campaign.
The record German champions will conclude a week-long US tour by taking part in the traditional All-Star Game against a team compromising representatives of Major League Soccer (MLS) at the Portland Timbers’ JELD-WEN Field Arena on 6 August (kick-off 18:30 PST/ 03:30 CET+1 day).
“It’s an honour to be the first German club to contest the MLS All-Star Game,” said Bayern head coach Pep Guardiola. “MLS has come on leaps and bounds in recent years and we’re looking forward to taking on the league’s best players.”
The game itself, which has previously featured high-profile European outfits such as AS Roma (2013), Chelsea FC (2012) and Manchester United FC (2011, 2010), is set be broadcast to more than 130 countries worldwide.
