Gelsenkirchen - FC Schalke 04 fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief with the news that attacking midfielder has returned to light training.
The 19-year-old was forced off the pitch after just 23 minutes of the Royal Blues' opneing Bundesliga fixture against Hamburger SV on Sunday after an awkward challenge on his ankle, but the club tweeted on Wednesday that he is now able to jog.
The injury was serious enough to force the Schalke No10 pull out of Germany's squad to face , but the new development has sparked optimism that he may yet feature against Wolfsburg on Saturday.
