Schuler reads Broll and slots the ball low into the bottom right corner.

Gechter is up next finishes into the top corner, despite Broll getting a hand to it.

The Berliners step up, with Brekalo taking responsibility and finding the bottom right corner. Broll guesses correctly, but the penalty is struck too well.

Sessa commits a tactical foul against Owusu in midfield and is shown a yellow card.

Schuler has a clear run towards Broll, but he plays the ball far too far ahead of himself. Broll comes out, gathers the ball and the danger is gone. There was more in that for the hosts.

The striker gets a shot off from six yards out and is denied by a strong save from Broll, who uses his face to make the block. Unbelievable!

The subsequent set piece from the left flank poses no threat and flies past everyone in the middle.

Adewumi blocks a set piece from Sontheimer and receives a booking.

Alfa-Ruprecht crosses from the right into the box. Klemens runs onto it at the near post and nods the ball just wide of the bottom left corner from nine yards.

Seguin and Þorsteinsson make way for Klemens and Alfa-Ruprecht.

Sessa takes aim from the right half-space outside the box, but his shot towards the top left corner flies just over the crossbar.

Grönning and Gouram make way for Schuler and Adewumi.

The Hertha player gets into a confrontation with Brünker and is shown a yellow card. Head coach Leitl also receives a yellow card for his protests on the sidelines.

Kolbe makes way for Dárdai.

Brekalo cuts into the penalty area from off the left and shoots from 16 yards at a tight angle. Broll is there at the near post, however, and smothers the ball.

Sessa lets fly centrally from 25 yards. His shot whistles just barely past the right post. Hertha were mere millimetres away from taking the lead there!

The midfielder takes aim from the right side of the box, but Broll dives into the bottom right corner and makes a good stop, parrying the ball to safety.

The full-back cuts in from the right side of the box and shoots, aiming for the bottom left corner, but the ball goes wide of the goal by a yard or two.

Seguin plays a through ball forward into the penalty area for Brekalo to chase, but the pass is just a touch too long and only finds the Saarbrücken defence.

Thorsteinsson looks to switch the play, but his pass from the right finds no recipient and goes out of play on the left flank. The hosts restart with a throw-in.

Brekalo has the ball in a dangerous position on the left side of the penalty area, but the referee spots an infringement in the form of handball and awards a free-kick to the hosts.

Grönning has the ball on the right side, but commits a foul high up the pitch in a duel with Kühlwetter. Play continues with a free-kick for Saarbrücken.

Thorsteinsson crosses from the right into the centre, but Saarbrücken are alert in the middle and clear the danger.

The Hertha player is lying on the turf in midfield, clutching his throat. He had previously collided with Staff.

Almost the opener for the Berliners! Zeefuik cuts in from the left inside and lets fly with his right foot from the edge of the box, hammering the ball off the woodwork. The situation remains dangerous afterwards, as Thorsteinsson then hits the rebound towards the bottom left corner. Broll has to dive at full stretch to tip the shot brilliantly around the post, conceding a corner which brings no danger for Hertha.

The Old Lady is dominating play early on here and is repeatedly looking to make inroads into the opposition's half. However, Saarbrücken have so far held their own, cleverly closing down spaces and occasionally threatening on the counter.

Zeefuik cuts in from the left elects to shoot from just inside the penalty area. His effort is aimed towards the top left corner, but Broll makes a good save and pushes it out for a corner. The resulting set piece from the left side comes to nothing for the Old Lady.
