Bayern Munich's Vincent Kompany makes noise with stylish touchline attire
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich are playing free-flowing attacking football and enjoy a nine-point cushion at the Bundesliga summit, but it’s not just the Belgian’s philosophy that is making noise in Germany’s top flight and beyond.
Unlike predecessors Jupp Heynckes, Pep Guardiola, and Carlo Ancelotti who often opted for suits, Kompany’s attire is creating waves in social media.
Preferring to don loose fit clothing, the Belgian more often than not pairs white sneakers with an all-black ensemble, opting for very baggy trousers, a T-shirt under an oversized shirt, or hoodie, with a puffer jacket and a black cap.
Known for his stylish attire, Kompany, who is quickly becoming a social media star - unbeknownst to Bayern’s tactician - wouldn’t look out of place at a fashion show.
Questioned on the social media posts about his touchline ‘aura’ ahead of Bayern’s 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, Kompany laughed it off: “I have no idea what’s being said.
“There’s only one Mr Aura, and that’s Rodyse [Munienge, a member of Bayern's management team]. You know it.”
