We cast an eye over the field of participants at the VBL Grand Final by bevestor ahead of the two-day offline event on 4 and 5 June in Cologne.

Divided between the two consoles, we take a close look at five players who have the potential to become German champions in eFootball. Today's turn: The FIFA elite on PlayStation.

Umut Gultekin

Club: RB Leipzig
Qualification: VBL Club Championship - 1st Division South-East
VBL Grand Final 2021: Winner

With nine different champions from the nine previous editions, Umut “Rblz_umut” Gültekin is looking to become the first man to defend the title in history. The 19-year-old brings concentrated experience in offline tournaments as well as fine form having won the German club championship with Leipzig back in March. “When everyone is expecting you in the run-up to the final, the pressure is high. But Umut is a player who often performs even better in such situations,” says his coach Daniel “Fehrminator” Fehr.

Serhat Özturk

Gamertag: Serhatinho
Club: Schalke
Qualification: VBL Open - Playoffs
VBL Grand Final 2021: Semi-final

Serhat “Serhatinho” Öztürk didn't miss much along the way to making the cross-console final last year. In two close semi-finals (1-1/0-1), he lost out on Xbox to Dylan “DullenMike” Neuhausen. A rematch would only be possible in the final this time around after the player switched over to the PlayStation. On this console, “Serhatinho” also showed his class in the playoffs of the VBL Open by bevestor and remained unbeaten in the upper bracket (W4, D2,).

Ali Oskoui Rad

Gamertag: PredatorFIFA
Club: Werder Bremen
Qualification: VBL Club Championship - 3rd place Division North-West
VBL Grand Final 2021: Round of 16

Going into his second VBL Grand Final, Ali “PredatorFIFA” Oskoui Rad has made his way to the top of the game. The 20-year-old qualified for the final of the German individual championship via the VBL Club Championship, where he finished third in the North-West division with Werder. The offline final of the team competition followed, and the FIFA Ultimate Team mode used in the Grand Final should suit his offensive playing style and strong skill set.

Leroy Richter

Gamertag: Leroy_1892
Club: Hertha Berlin
Qualification: VBL Open - Playoffs
VBL Grand Final 2021: Not qualified

After former German champion Cihan “Cihan_Official” Yasarlar (2017) and Eren “ErenPyrz030” Poyraz (top performer of the second round in the VBL Club Championship) failed to make it to the final, Hertha's hopes rest with Leroy “Leroy_1892” Richter, who convincingly took the place of the aforementioned duo in the playoffs. With six wins in the Double Elimination phase and the second most goals (45) from all PlayStation players, Richter is one to watch and will be looking to build on his round of 16 exit in his sole previous Grand Final appearance in 2020.

Antonio Radelja

Gamertag: AntoniorAdelja
Club: Nuremberg
Qualification: VBL Open - Playoffs
VBL Grand Final 2021: Not Qualified

Whenever a firework of goals are set off in the Virtual Bundesliga, someone from Nuremberg has his fingers on the game. And almost half of all the goals scored by Nuremberg in the team competition (61 out of 128) have come from Antonio “AntoniorAdelja” Radelja. After three years away from the VBL Grand Final, “AntoniorAdelja” is now back in contention for the German individual championship.
