The five best passers of 2024/25, featuring Minjae Kim and Jonathan Tah
The top three clubs of the 2024/25 season are all represented in the list of the best passers, but a surprise name sneaks into spot number three. bundesliga.com takes a look at the most efficient passers of another stellar campaign.
1. Minjae Kim (Bayern Munich), 94.1 per cent
Although Kim missed the final weeks of Bayern's title-winning campaign through injury, the South Korean still tops the leaderboard for the highest percentage of completed passes this season. He was also on the ball the fourth most in the entire league (2,798 times) and most among defenders.
2. Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen), 93.86 per cent
After clocking the Bundesliga's top pass completion rate during Leverkusen's record-breaking 2023/24 season, Tah slips to second this campaign ahead of his move to champions Bayern. The Germany international once more exhibited the qualities that make him an elite centre-back, featuring in all but one game and yet still only giving away a total of sixteen fouls.
3. Nico Elvedi (Borussia Mönchengladbach), 93.66 percent
Elvedi is the only player on this list to represent a side that did not finish in the UEFA Champions League places. Although Elvedi only featured 25 times this season, Gladbach were certainly a better side with him, winning 10 out of 25 with him but only three out of nine without him. He was also his side's best for duels, winning 63 percent of his attempted challenges.
4. Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich), 92.89 percent
After playing the final 12 matches of 2023/24 at right-back, Bayern and Germany captain Kimmich thrived on his return to defensive midfield duties under Vincent Kompany. Although the move has meant playing under more pressure, the 30-year-old has excelled in terms of distribution, helping his side to rack up the league's best overall pass completion rate - an eye-watering 90.6 percent!
