Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Rookie of the Month Sweepstakes in the Season 2023/2024

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve the chances of winning. Void where prohibited.

1. Competition

1.1 DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, Guiollettstrasse 44-46, D-60325 Frankfurt/Main, Germany, ("DFL" or "We") conducts a sweepstake in connection with the voting of the “Rookie of the Month” ("Competition") on the Bundesliga’s English-language official account at the social media platform Facebook and the Bundesliga’s English-language official account at the social media platform Instagram (@bundesliga).

The starting and the closing date for the Competition will be published in the Competition post. Any entries for the Competition received after the close for participation will not be considered.

Participation in the Competition and how it is conducted are governed by these Terms and Conditions ("Ts&Cs"), which the participant ("Participant") recognizes as binding by participating in the Competition.

1.2 All Participants who (i) share or report the Competition post (ii) follow the accounts from Bundesliga and Sorare (either their official Facebook accounts if he/she participates via Facebook or their official Instagram accounts @bundesliga and @sorare if he/she participates via Instagram), (iii) comment with the name of the chosen Rookie of the Month and (iv) are eligible to participate and win in accordance with Clause 2 go into the draw to win a limited Sorare card of the Rookie of the Month.

2. Authorization to participate and win

2.1 Only individuals who have reached the age of 16 years are entitled to participate in the Competition.

2.2 Participation in the Competition is free of charge.

2.3 The User is responsible for the observation of Facebook’s and Instagram’s guidelines and rules which are applicable on the User. The User indemnifies Facebook and Instagram from claims arising from participation in the Competition.

2.4 Any false or fake personal information provided by the Participant authorizes Us to exclude him or her from the Competition.

Participants who secure an illegal advantage over other Participants, or whose entries contain immoral, slanderous, discriminatory, disgusting or other illegal material, or which show or call for illegal activities or appear to conflict with the respective social media service’s terms of use will also be excluded from the Competition. Automatic computer-generated entries, multiple entries and multiple entries with more than one social media profile are not permissible and will not be considered in the draw.

Our Employees, the employees of companies affiliated with Us within the meaning of §§ 15 et seq. German Stock Corporations Act (Aktiengesetz, "AktG") and DFL Foundation, employees of Our licensees, partners and sponsors, contractual partners (in particular, but not limited to Sorare SAS) and of those of companies affiliated with Us within the meaning of §§ 15 et seq. German Stock Corporations Act (Aktiengesetz, "AktG") and DFL Foundation are excluded from participation. The respective relatives of all these employees are also excluded from participation.

We can demand return of a prize that has already been granted in all the above-mentioned situations.

2.4 An alternate winner will be determined by conducting a new draw excluding the respective original winner in the following cases: (i) the winner has not reached the age of 16 (ii) We reclaim a prize already distributed in accordance with Clause 2.3, (iii) the winner fails to contact Us within the period specified in Clause 3.1 and/or (iv) the winner provides false or fake personal information.

3. Prize notification

3.1 The winner will be drawn and notified by direct message via Facebook or Instagram within two weeks after the closing date. The winner is obliged to contact us within one week after sending this notification. If the winner fails to do so, the prize will be forfeited. In this case, an alternate winner will be selected at Our sole discretion by conducting another draw excluding the original winner.

3.2 The claim for the prize is not transferrable. A cash payout or payout with physical items is excluded.

3.3 We will not bear any further costs, in particular due to the non-delivery of a prize to the address named by the winner.

4. Data privacy

4.1 In the event that it is necessary to redeem a prize, We will ask the winner for additional contact information (e.g. email address or postal address). If the prize is redeemed through retailers or other providers, We are entitled to share the contact data of the winner with the respective retailer or provider so that they can contact the winner. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 b) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

4.2 We will observe all legal provisions on data protection and data safety. All personal data of the Participant in connection with the Competition will be solely collected, processed and stored for its conduction and deleted afterwards, unless We are legally required or entitled to further store the respective personal data.

4.3 The controller of personal data processed according to these Ts&Cs is the DFL. The further data protection provisions including the rights of the Participant under the GDPR and the contact data of Our data privacy officer can be found in the Privacy Statement under the following link.

5. Other provisions

5.1 We reserve the right to interrupt or shut down the Competition at any time without stating reasons. Especially reasons involving technology and/or legal matters, as a result of which the Competition can no longer be properly conducted, can be the basis for the end of the Competition.

5.2 The Competition is not connected to Facebook or Instagram and is not sponsored, supported or organized in any way by Facebook or Instagram. Facebook and Instagram are not the contact person for the Competition. Questions regarding the Competition have only be addressed to Us at info@bundesliga.com.

5.3 Legal recourse is excluded. Only the law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.

5.4 Place of performance for the Competition is Frankfurt am Main.
