Benjamin Šeško thrills as Slovenia claim impressive draw against Denmark
Benjamin Šeško starred as a strong second-half display from Slovenia resulted in the spoils shared to keep things interesting in Group C.
Slovenia 1-1 Denmark
Goals: 0-1 Eriksen (17'), 1-1 Janža (77')
Wolfsburg's Jonas Wind spearheaded the Denmark attack and Kasper Hjulmand's side were supremely dominant in the first half, taking an early lead through Christian Eriksen, who cooly slotted past Jan Oblak thanks to a clever flick-on from Wind. The Danes failed to extend their advantage beyond that though with Wind providing little end product aside from the assist.
Slovenia looked a completely different team in the second 45 as RB Leipzig's Benjamin Šeško went about his business causing havoc in the opposition half. Having testing Kasper Schmeichel with a sublime shot from range in the first half he went even closer in the second with a wicked effort of the post. Their resurgence was rewarded from the resulting corner when Erik Janža's shot from distance beat Schmeichel via a deflection for a well-deserved equaliser. That set up an end-to-end conclusion to the tie but both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils at full-time.
