Hannover 0-3 Hertha Berlin
Goals: 0-1
Winkler (51’), 0-2 Kownacki (68’), 0-3 Schuler (90’+2)

A clinical second-half performance from Hertha was enough for the Old Lady to claim their first win of the campaign, whilst handing league leaders Hannover their first taste of defeat under Christian Titz. Marten Winkler, Dawid Kownacki and Luca Schuler's second half goals sealed the three points with ruthless efficiency, whilst a combination of Hannover being wasteful in front of goal and a strong defensive performance ensured the keeping of a clean sheet by the Berliners.

Greuther Fürth 0-3 Kaiserslautern
Goals: 0-1
Skyttä 33‘, 0-2 Prtajin 58‘, 0-3 Prtajin 64‘Red card: König 1‘

Fürth’s horror start saw Noah König sent off after just 27 seconds, his heavy touch allowing Faride Alidou in before he brought the Lautern man down for the earliest red card in Bundesliga 2 history. Despite the man advantage, the visitors struggled to create until Naatan Skyttä struck from close range after good work by Alidou and Paul Joly to give them a halftime lead. Joly then supplied a superb cross for summer signing Ivan Prtajin to head home his first of the season, before the striker doubled his tally with a composed finish inside the box after escaping two defenders.

Elversberg 2-2 Dynamo Dresden
Goals: 0-1
Daferner 3', 1-1 Ebnoutalib 9', 1-2 Lemmer 39', 2-2 Ebnoutalib 90+2'

Elversberg missed the chance to move top of the table but did rescue a point thanks to Younes Ebnoutalib's second brace in as many games. Dresden had taken a bold attacking approach into the encounter that saw them twice take the lead in the first half, but the hosts sent a wave of late pressure on the visiting goal, which ultimately told.

Preußen Münster 1-2 Fortuna Düsseldorf
Goals: 1-0
Scherder 19’, 1-1 Itten 64’, 1-2 Muslija 72’ (pen.)

Düsseldorf staged an impressive second-half comeback to claim all three points in Münster. The hosts dominated the early stages and took a deserved lead when Luca Bolay’s mis-hit shot fell into the path of Simon Scherzer, who finished with aplomb. The visitors raised their game in the second half, though, and restored parity when Cedric Itten headed home from point-blank range. Florent Muslija completed the turnaround eight minutes later, firing home from the penalty spot after Charalambos Makridis had handled the ball in the area.

Paderborn 1-0 Bochum
Goal: 1-0 Copado (90’)

Paderborn snatched a last-minute winner to inflict a fourth defeat of the season on Bochum. The hosts were the better side throughout but despite creating a wealth of chances, wayward finishing meant the game remained on a knife’s edge until the closing stages. That all changed in the final minute when substitute Lucas Copado popped up to prod in the rebound after Sven Michel’s shot had been saved.

Arminia Bielefeld 2-0 Magdeburg
Goals: 1-0 Corboz (52’), 2-0 Grodowski (62’)

Bielefeld scored twice early in the second half to clinch their third Bundesliga 2 win of the season, condemning Magdeburg to a third consecutive defeat and fourth overall. The first half was an evenly balanced affair with positive attacks at both ends, although both sides lacked a decisive final ball. The hosts were more clinical after the break, however, and once they had taken the lead they were comfortably able to see the result to the final whistle.

Karlsruhe 2-1 Nuremberg
Goals: 1-0 Schleusener (44’), 1-1 Koudossou (45’+4), 2-1 Wanitzek (75’)

Karlsruhe remain unbeaten and Nuremberg winless after an entertaining encounter at the BBBank Wildpark. The visitors, bottom of the table, had a number of chances throughout the first half but found themselves behind on the stroke of half-time when Fabian Schleusener volleyed in. However, Henri Koudossou responded for Miroslav Klose’s side in added time with just their second goal in five games. The pattern of play continued in the second period, with Nuremberg finishing the game with a season-best 23 attempts on goal, but again it was Karlsruhe who made their opportunities count when captain Marvin Wanitzek fired in a rebound from the edge of the box to take them on to 11 points from five games, while Nuremberg remain rooted to the foot of the table with just one.

Darmstadt 2-1 Eintracht BraunschweigGoals: 0-1 Can Aydin 21’, 1-1 Lidberg 62’, 2-1 Maglica 86’Red card: Köhler 85’

Darmstadt found themselves a goal down early on as Marcel Shuhen fumbled a long-range effort from Mehmet Can Aydin, before Darmstadt fought back in the second half. Lidberg poked home his fifth of the season for the equaliser, before Sven Köhler brought down Lidberg to see red, only for Matej Maglica to fire in the resulting free-kick to seal all three points for the hosts.

Schalke 0-1 Holstein KielGoals: 0-1 Bernhardsson 6’

Schalke came into the game in good form, but came unstuck thanks to an early goal from Alexander Bernhardsson, whose deflected effort looped over Loris Karius after six minutes. The hosts flattered to deceive for the remainder of the game, struggling to cause the Kiel defence any real problems.
