Luka Jovic returns to Eintracht Frankfurt from Real Madrid on loan
Luka Jovic has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Spanish giants Real Madrid for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
Jovic, 21, joined Real in July 2019 on the back of a 27-goal campaign for Frankfurt. Two goals in 32 appearances across his one-and-a-half years in the Spanish capital have left the Serbian yearning for more game-time, with a return to the Eagles providing the perfect solution.
"Ich bin zurück" (I am back) was the simple message from the forward, who will wear the No.9 jersey, on Eintracht's Twitter channel.
Jovic, who is an 11-time Serbia international, scored 17 goals in 25 Bundesliga starts for Frankfurt in 2018/19, and struck 10 times in the UEFA Europa League during the Eagles' run to the semi-finals.
He initially moved to Frankfurt on a two-year loan from Benfica in summer 2017, registering eight goals in 22 matches in his first season in the Bundesliga, before signing a permanent deal in April.

"Luka didn't have an easy time in Madrid recently," explained sporting director Fredi Bobic. "It's important for him to get back on track. It was his great wish to return to Eintracht.
"Luka can use the next few months to find his way back to old strength in a familiar environment. Real Madrid know that he's in good hands with us and that he can develop here. And it is clear to us that we have another excellent option up front."
Jovic could make his second debut as a Frankfurt player when Adi Hütter's side take on Schalke on Matchday 16.
