RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa delights Rot-Weiss Essen ball boy in DFB Cup

The DFB Cup is renowned for producing moments of magic for clubs, players and fans alike - and RB Leipzig’s battling victory at 3. Liga Rot-Weiss Essen on Tuesday was no exception.

Fit-again Christoph Baumgartner’s second-half double helped the Bundesliga side come from behind at the Stadion an der Hafenstraße, but the second-round tussle proved to be an unforgettable one for one young Essen supporter - thanks to Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa.

The Norwegian winger, who was a second-half substitute on Tuesday night, was seen exchanging passes with one of the club’s ball boys while the teams were warming up, before sharing a high-five with the youngster prior to kick-off.

As a token of appreciation, Nusa presented the ball boy with his jersey after full time. Unable to suppress a broad grin, the young lad immediately made a beeline for his friends in the crowd to show them his souvenir.

Norway international Nusa played a major role in Leipzig’s recovery against the third-division outfit, delivering the cross from which Baumgartner drew Martín Demichelis’ charges level.

The 21-year-old is expected to return to the starting line-up when Die Roten Bullen travel to Schalke in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.
