Eintracht Frankfurt sign Michy Batshuayi from Galatasaray
Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the deadline-day signing of Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Batshuayi has put pen to paper on a permanent deal with Frankfurt through to the summer of 2027. The 31-year-old previously enjoyed a short loan spell in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, scoring seven goals in 10 appearances during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
A 56-time Belgium international, Batshuayi has also played club football in England with Chelsea, Belgium and France. In four seasons at Galatasaray, he hit 43 goals in 97 Süper Lig games, including five in 18 appearances this season. The experienced forward's arrival follows top scorer Omar Marmoush's winter transfer to Manchester City.
"Michy Batshuayi doesn’t only have a great goalscoring record, he has plenty of experience because he’s played in almost all of Europe’s top leagues, including the Bundesliga," said Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche. "Michy has the necessary robustness and is battle-hardened. We’re confident he will quickly take on an important role in our young team."
