Bayer Leverkusen confirm Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United friendlies
Bayer Leverkusen have announced pre-season friendlies English Premier League duo Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.
Leverkusen will play Forest at the City Ground on 12 August (kick-off: 8.45pm CEST), before travelling north to take on Newcastle at St James' Park on 15 August (kick-off: 4pm CEST).
Before their trip to England, Leverkusen will face a series of friendlies against Oberliga club Sportfreunde Baumberg (18 July), Regionalliga sides Kickers Offenbach (25 July) and Carl Zeiss Jena (1 August), as well as La Liga outfit Sevilla (8 August).
Die Werkself will begin their 2026/27 campaign with a DFB Cup first-round tie against 3. Liga's Wehen Wiesbaden on 22 August, before visiting Bundesliga newcomers Elversberg for their league opener on 29 August.

Leverkusen finished sixth in the Bundesliga last season, securing qualification for the UEFA Europa League. They have a new head coach in Carles Martínez, who replaced Kasper Hjulmand at the start of June.
