Jude Bellingham thrilled brother Jobe is continuing family tradition at Borussia Dortmund
Real Madrid's star midfielder Jude Bellingham told bundesliga.com he felt "really proud" that brother Jobe was continuing a family tradition by playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Ahead of the teams' FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final in the United States, a game for which BVB's Jobe was suspended, older brother Jude was asked about his sibling following in the family footsteps by donning the famous BVB Black-and-Yellow shirt. "It's beautiful, I have to say; I'm really happy for my brother," the former Dortmund fan favourite said.
"There was a big discussion for him in relation to the decisions he could have made but I think that, looking at it now, and from the perspective of the decision that he has made, I'm really happy," Jude continued.

Younger sibling Jobe - 19 - made the switch to Germany having helped English side Sunderland achieve promotion to the Premier League. The move mirrored that of Jude's transfer to the Signal Iduna Park from Birmingham City back in July 2020. Bellingham senior went on to make 132 appearances for Dortmund, scoring 24 goals and winning the DFB Cup, before departing for Spain.
Harking back to his time in the Bundesliga and at BVB, Bellingham said he was certain Jobe was in the right hands and ready for an unforgettable adventure. "I know the people at Dortmund and the fans there will look after him and support him and I know that he will deliver as well," Jude explained. "I'm really proud that that step at Dortmund continues for my family."

Putting the focus squarely on Jobe and his fledgling Dortmund career, Jude said, "It's worth noting that this is his story now. I had a brilliant time in Dortmund and [enjoyed] wonderful times there but now it's all about him and I'm really proud of him."
The Bellingham brothers were denied a first on-field face-to-face meeting after Jobe collected a second yellow card in Dortmund's Club World Cup Round of 16 win against Monterrey, but the 22-year-old Jude explained there was enough time for future meetings between the two. "Hopefully we'll get another chance at some point in the future to play and compete against each other," he said. "It would be a nice moment for our family."
