Former Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jesper Lindstrøm will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Wolfsburg from Napoli, the 2008/09 Bundesliga champions have confirmed.

Lindstrøm posted career-best numbers in his previous two seasons in the Bundesliga, registering 12 goals and nine assists in 57 top-flight appearances for Frankfurt between moving to Deutsche Bank Park from Brondby in July 2021 and leaving for Napoli in August 2023. He also helped the Eagles win the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League.

Now 25, the Denmark international is hoping to reignite his career after playing just 22 times for his parent club in 2023/24 and seeing a loan spell with English Premier League outfit Everton curtailed by a groin injury last season.

Lindstrøm will be the fourth Dane on the Wolfsburg books in 2025/26, after defender Joakim Mæhle, winger Andreas Skov Olsen and striker Jonas Wind.

Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz is confident the ex-Frankfurt flier can help the Lower Saxony club find another gear in the new season following their 11th-placed finish last term.

"Jesper has experience in the Bundesliga and at international level," he said. "With him, we are gaining a dynamic and very flexible player who can fill almost any position in midfield. We are delighted that he is already part of our group and will be working with the team at the training camp."

The Wolves go to German minnows Hemelingen in the DFB Cup first round on 16 August, before visiting Heidenheim in their Bundesliga opener a week later.
