Bayern Munich's Harry Kane closing in on 100 Bundesliga goals - when will he break the century mark?
Harry Kane has already sent countless records tumbling in three prolific seasons with Bayern Munich. By the time the full-time whistle blows on his next Bundesliga appearance, the England captain may well have broken another.
Kane is only two goals shy of a century of German top-flight strikes, having found the net 98 times in only 94 league outings for the record Bundesliga champions.
The 32-year-old has already hit 95 Bundesliga goals more quickly than any other player in the division’s history. Dieter Müller, the previous record holder, needed 123 matches to register 95 league goals for Cologne.

Müller hit the century mark six games later, but a Kane double against VfB Stuttgart on 28 August would leave the Bayern star on 100 goals after only 95 appearances - 34 games (an entire Bundesliga season!) fewer than the former West Germany striker.
Given his previous record against the Swabians, it would be brave - perhaps even foolhardy - to bet against Kane breaking the 100 barrier at the Allianz Arena late next month.
Last season alone, Kane plundered not one but two hat-tricks against Sebastian Hoeneß’s side, who were only 1-0 down when the striker came off the bench in the sides’ Matchday 13 clash last season. By full time, Kane had struck three times to help Bayern secure a comprehensive 5-0 victory.

After scoring again in Bayern’s title-clinching 4-2 win over Stuttgart in April, Kane bagged all three goals in the Bavarians’ DFB Cup final triumph a month later, lifting his 2025/26 tally against VfB to eight goals in only four matches.
Throw in a second Bundesliga hat-trick against Stuttgart in October 2024, and another three efforts during the 2023/24 campaign, and Kane has found the net 14 times in eight appearances overall against Bayern’s Matchday 1 opponents - more than against any other Germany club.
This wouldn’t be the first time Kane has soared out of the traps at the start of a campaign. Just ask RB Leipzig, who shipped six goals - including three from Kane - in their Matchday 1 visit to Munich last term.

But even if he doesn’t hit 100 Bundesliga goals in Bayern’s 2026/27 opener, subsequent games against newly promoted duo Schalke and Elversberg should give him ample opportunity to do so.
The law of averages suggest he might reach a century at the Veltins-Arena on Matchday 2. Kane has found the net once every 78 minutes in the Bundesliga since his arrival in 2023 - more than the likes of Erling Haaland (87 minutes), Robert Lewandowski (100) and Gerd Müller (105).
He has yet to face the Royal Blues or Bundesliga newcomers Elversberg since moving to Germany, but both clubs will be all too aware of Kane’s proud record of scoring against every side he has played against in the division.
Whether or not he hits 100 Bundesliga goals in the opening weeks of the season, it is likely to be another memorable campaign for the three-time Torjägerkanone winner and his Bayern team-mates.
With 146 goals in 147 Bayern appearances to date - including 61 strikes in 51 games last term - he might even be celebrating a double century of goals for the record German champions before the 2026/27 campaign draws to a close.
