Fixture list release date set for 17 June - key dates for the 2022/23 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 season
With the 2022/23 Bundesliga season set to kick off on 5 August, and the Bundesliga 2 campaign getting underway three weeks earlier, the fixture list for the respective new seasons will be released this coming 17 June.
An important factor had to be taken into account when putting together the 2022/23 scheduling framework: that of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar taking place from 21 November to 18 December 2022. This will result in a two-month winter break at domestic level. The last matchdays prior to that break - matchday 15 for the Bundesliga and matchday 17 for Bundesliga 2 - will thus take place on the weekend of 11 - 13 November. Following the World Cup and the subsequent winter break, the Bundesliga will resume on 20 Januar, 2023 with Bundesliga 2 recommencing 27 January.
The 34th and final match day of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season is scheduled for Saturday, May 27 2023. A day later, on May 28 2023, the 34th matchday of Bundesliga 2 will take place.

Leipzig to host Supercup on 30 July
The first round of the DFB Cup will be played between 29 July and 1 August next season. On that same weekend - specifically Saturday, 30 July - the 2022 Supercup will take place between the German champions, FC Bayern Munich, and the DFB Cup winners, RB Leipzig. The two DFB Cup first round games involving the Supercup participants are scheduled for 30 and 31 August 2022.
The 2nd round of the DFB Cup follows on 18, 19 October 2022 while the round of 16 is spread over 31/1 January/February and 7, 8 February 2023. The quarter-finals are scheduled for 4-5 April 2023. The semi-finals will be held on 2-3 May 2023. The DFB Cup final will take place on 3 June 2023.
