Eintracht Frankfurt sign goalkeeper Noah Atubolu on loan from Freiburg
Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed the signing of highly-rated goalkeeper Noah Atubolu from Freiburg on an initial season-long loan.
Atubolu, 24, leaves Freiburg after 11 years on the books. The custodian joined at the Black Forest club's academy back in 2015, before climbing the ladder to eventually become Die Breisgauer's first-choice goalkeeper at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
Now, 125 competitive appearances and 38 clean sheets later, and the shot-stopper has elected for a fresh start with Adi Hütter's Frankfurt. The deal will become permanent should certain conditions be met.
Atubolu said: "I'm very happy to be here and can't wait to get started at Eintracht Frankfurt. I know the city, the club and the stadium and have always experienced the games here as something special. I am really looking forward to the new challenge."
Eintracht's board member for sport Markus Krösche said: "With Noah Atubolu, we are gaining a strong, ambitious, and already very experienced goalkeeper. He brings great potential, a strong mentality, and the necessary quality to give our team an important boost. We're convinced that Noah will take the next step in his development with us and strengthen our squad.”

A 32-time capped youth international with Germany, and one with experience training with the senior national team after being called up by then coach Julian Nagelsmann back in October last year for two FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, Atubolu brings a wealth of experience to Frankfurt despite his young age.
The 24-year-old also boasts both European pedigree, having played every minute of Freiburg's last 25 UEFA Europa League outings - which included a start in the final against Aston Villa back in May - in addition to a reputation as one of the best penalty-killers currently in the business, holding the Bundesliga record for most consecutive penalty saves (five), which is still on going.

Frankfurt began their new season with a huge 11-0 victory at Tönis in the first round of the DFB Cup, ahead of travelling to Union Berlin for their opening Bundesliga fixture on Saturday.
