Eintracht Frankfurt were in irresistible form as they hammered VfL Bochum 7-2 on Matchday 9 of the 2024/25 campaign, taking their season goal tally to 23 - their highest haul at this point of a season for 31 years.

It was a stunning display from the Eagles as they put Bochum to the sword. Omar Marmoush was at the heart of Frankfurt's dominance, scoring a stunning free-kick while providing two asssists, and Hugo Ekitiké doubled his Bundesliga return for the season with a clinical brace.

There were first-ever Frankfurt goals for Nathaniel Brown and Can Uzun, and both Mahmoud Dahoud and Ansgar Knauff opened their accounts for the term.

This was one of several impressive goalscoring displays from Frankfurt this season, as they previously put three past Bayern Munich and netted on four occasions in the victory over Holstein Kiel.

Marmoush has been the star of the show, netting 10 himself while creating six others, with Ekitiké the second top goalscorer so far. Surprisingly, Hugo Larsson is the only other player to score more than once.

Such has been the level of their finishing, this is their best goalscoring since the early 90s. That term, led by the likes of Tony Yeboah, Maurizio Gaudino and Jay-Jay Okocha, Frankfurt struck 26 times in the first nine games of the league season.

Not only did they score in each of those fixtures, they netted at least three times in six of them as they flew to the top of the table. Ultimately, they were unable to keep that pace up for the rest of the term, but did finish in a respectable fifth place.

Currently sitting in third, Frankfurt will believe they can achieve even more than that vintage. Should their forward line continue to perform at the same level, they is no reason why they can't do just that.
