Alexander Meier returns to Eintracht Frankfurt as assistant coach
Cult hero Alexander Meier has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt as part of Adi Hütter's coaching staff.
Meier spent 14 years at Frankfurt as a player between 2004 and 2018, scoring 137 goals in 379 competitive appearances. The ex-Germany, Hamburg, St. Pauli and Western Sydney forward returned to the club as a youth coach in 2020 before progressing through the ranks.
Meier, nicknamed 'Fußballgott' ('Football God') by Eintracht fans, has signed a contract until 30 June 2029, completing Hütter's coaching staff ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 42-year-old also spent time on the senior team's interim coaching staff earlier this year.
