Bundesliga fans were treated to a thrilling 90 minutes of action on Matchday 21, as Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintrach Frankfurt drew 1-1 at a raucous Borussia-Park thanks to goals from Tim Kleindienst and Hugo Ekitiké.

Ahead of the clash, Gladbach manager Gerardo Seoane made two changes to his side, with Marvin Friedrich and Florian Neuhaus coming in for Nico Elvedi and Philipp Sander. Frankfurt's Dino Toppmöller also made adjustments – among them Michy Batshuayi made his debut at the front of attack.
Gladbach strike first
The match began with an electric atmosphere at Borussia-Park, as both sets of fans created a cauldron of noise. Gladbach started the brighter of the two sides, controlling possession and probing the Frankfurt defence. Their efforts were rewarded in the 26th minute when Kleindienst rose highest to meet a pinpoint cross from Florian Neuhaus, powering a header past Kevin Trapp to give the hosts the lead.

Frankfurt's swift response
However, Frankfurt's response was swift and decisive. Just five minutes after falling behind, the Eagles levelled the scores. Ekitiké, capitalising on some neat build-up play involving Michy Batshuayi, fired home from close range after Hugo Larsson's initial effort had struck the crossbar. The goal injected new life into the visitors, who began to assert themselves more in the contest. Ekitiké nearly doubled his tally moments later, striking the post in the 37th minute as Frankfurt finished the half strongly.
Second-half stalemate
The second half saw both teams trading blows in search of a winner. Gladbach regained control early on, with Neuhaus forcing a save from Trapp. Frankfurt responded through substitute Can Uzun, who replaced Batshuayi in the 57th minute and injected fresh energy into their attack. The youngster had several attempts on goal, keeping Moritz Nicolas on his toes in the Gladbach net. However, neither side could find the crucial goal.

Neuhaus emerged as the standout performer. The midfielder's vision and passing ability were instrumental in Gladbach's attacking play, highlighted by his assist for Kleindienst's opener. Neuhaus consistently found pockets of space to operate in, completing a high number of passes and creating several chances for his teammates. His work rate off the ball was equally impressive, as he contributed defensively and helped Gladbach maintain their shape against Frankfurt's potent attack. Neuhaus's all-round display underlined his importance to Seoane's side and played a crucial role in securing a valuable point for the Foals.
