Borussia Dortmund 'to pick up phone' to Chelsea amid Aarón Anselmino permanent move speculation
Argentinian defender Aarón Anselmino is becoming a key figure at Borussia Dortmund during his season-long loan from Chelsea, and sporting director Sebastian Kehl has indicated he would like to keep the talent at the club for the longer term.
Despite suffering a muscular injury in August that kept him out for several weeks, Anselmino has now made four Bundesliga appearances and is looking increasingly assured in a mean Dortmund backline that has conceded the second-fewest goals in the league (11).
The 20-year-old Argentinian is starting to make an impact at the other end of the field too, laying on an assist for Serhou Guirassy in a 4-0 win over Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League before heading his first Bundesliga goal days later. It was a crucial strike too, which opened the scoring and sent the Black and Yellows on the way to a 2-1 win at rivals Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 12.

BVB sporting director Kehl was confident after the match on the chances of keeping Anselmino at the club beyond his season-long loan, saying: "We have a very good connection to Chelsea. I will definitely have to pick up the phone in the next few days and give them a call."
Head coach Niko Kovač has also been full of praise for the loanee, telling Sky, "He fights with crusader spirit. When things get tight, there’s no nonsense with him. He breaks through. And that’s something you need at this level. You need defenders who love defending. The boy does that excellently. I love players like that, who do their job with dedication and passion.”
