Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer calls for Dayot Upamecano to sign contract extension
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has made a big hint to French centre-back Dayot Upamecano to become the latest star to commit to the champions after deals for Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich and coach Vincent Kompany were recently extended.
Hainer told Bayern's Annual General Meeting on Sunday that extending the contract of Kompany recently to 2029 despite potential interest from English Premier League clubs was a crucial move.
He said the title-winning coach "is someone you can build an identity around. He understood what Bayern are about straight away and got all the players behind him - as they all believe in him."

Hainer added that contract extensions earlier this year with Musiala, Davies and Kimmich "are all a sign that there is something great in the making here."
He added: "Dear Dayot Upamecano, you are welcome to join them!"
The 34-time France international defender has made 110 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern since joining from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021, winning three league titles in his time in Bavaria.
His current contract is due to expire at the end of the season. Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga after a record-breaking start to the campaign in which they have claimed 15 successive wins in all competitions.
