Bayer Leverkusen sign talented young striker Aleksa Damjanović from Red Star Belgrade
Bayer Leverkusen have agreed to sign 6'5'' striker Aleksa Damjanović, who has played for Serbia's U19, from Red Star Belgrade this summer.
The 17-year-old has made 17 appearances for both Red Star and second-tier side Grafičar Belgrade in the current season, after scoring 39 goals in 47 appearances in the past two season for Red Star's U17 side.
Leverkusen managing director for sport, Simon Rolfes, said: "Aleksa is one of the most promising forward talents in Europe. He is very keen to learn and hungry for success. We are delighted to have him here at Bayer 04 from the summer."
Director of football Kim Falkenberg described the youngster as "an attacker who knows how to use his physicality brilliantly in the penalty area. He also has great finishing and heading ability."
Leverkusen are currently sixth in the Bundesliga ahead of a home encounter with St. Pauli on Matchday 22 and battling to qualify for the UEFA Champions League again before their young new striker joins at the end of the season.
