Badé has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the BayArena until 30 June 2030 as Erik ten Hag continues his Leverkusen rebuild following several high-profile departures this summer.

“In Loïc Badé, we have signed a young but very experienced center-back,” said Leverkusen director of sport Simon Rolfes. “He is used to playing against world-class strikers from his time in La Liga in Spain. Loïc is physically uncompromising and intelligent in his play, and an excellent reinforcement for our defensive line.”

“The Bundesliga and German football really appeal to me – Bayer Leverkusen has attracted a lot of attention abroad in recent years,” added Badé. “I've seen a lot on TV, especially the European games. The stadium and the Leverkusen fans were superb. It will be a lot of fun to compete for titles in this environment at Bayer 04.”

The 25-year-old, who made his debut for the French national team in June, joins after making 93 appearances in a three-year spell with Sevilla. He made six UEFA Europa League appearances in 2022/23 as the Spanish outfit went on to lift the trophy, while he also won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of France's U23 squad.

Badé is Leverkusen's 14th signing of the summer after Jarrell Quansah, Malik Tillman, Ibrahim Maza, Mark Flekken, Ernest Poku, Christian Kofane, Abdoulaye Faye, Janis Blaswich, Tim Oermann, Farid Alfa-Ruprecht, Axel Tape, Issa Traoré and Claudio Echeverri.

The influx of new faces comes following the departures of former head coach Xabi Alonso and star players Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, Lukáš Hrádecký, Jeremie Frimpong and Jonathan Tah over the past few months.

Badé could make his debut for the Werkself in their 2025/26 Bundesliga opener at home to Hoffenheim this Saturday (kick-off: 3.30pm CEST).
