Bayer Leverkusen confirm Kerim Alajbegović transfer to Juventus
Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the departure of Kerim Alajbegović after Juventus won the race for the highly rated youngster's signature.
Alajbegović, 18, leaves Leverkusen after a successful 2025/26 season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg, where he registered 14 goals and four assists in 44 competitive appearances.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international also gained wider recognition at the FIFA World Cup 206, scoring a spectacular individual effort against Qatar that was nominated for the Goal of the Tournament award.
A product of the Cologne and Leverkusen academies, Alajbegović progressed through the Bayer youth ranks before moving to Salzburg to gain regular senior experience. While he did not make a first-team appearance for Leverkusen, his performances at club and international level have increased his profile and attracted interest from across Europe.
"Following his time with us in the youth ranks, Kerim has recently made great strides again whilst at Salzburg. At the same time, we had to be realistic about the fact that competition within our squad is very fierce, particularly in his preferred positions. Against this backdrop, and taking into account the overall terms of the transfer, we have agreed to his move to Italy," said Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes.
"The fact that a player from our youth academy has moved to a club like Juventus once again highlights the outstanding work carried out by our academy. We wish Kerim all the best for the future."
