Patrik Schick’s scoring streak continues: Bayer Leverkusen striker nets again in win over RB Leipzig
Patrik Schick’s goal against RB Leipzig on Matchday 4 means he’s now scored in each of Bayer Leverkusen’s opening four games, a run he and his team-mates will be hoping carries on for the foreseeable future.
Leverkusen went into their fixture with Leipzig three places and two points behind their opponents in 10th, after a mixed start to the 2026/27 campaign.
One factor that has been consistent in the opening weeks of their season has been Schick’s scoring touch, however.
The experienced striker rescued a point for Bayer against Augsburg on Matchday 3, and was also previously on the scoresheet versus both Elversberg and Union Berlin.
His four goals have not only put him joint-top of the scoring charts, alongside the likes of Michael Olise and Yuito Suzuki, but they have also helped fire his team up into the Bundesliga's top five. Having taken 16 shots on goal over those four encounters, he has begun the season in clinical fashion.

“I could have scored a few more,” said Schick after the Leipzig game. “But overall, we did a really great job.”
His desire to perform even more ruthlessly in front of goal will be music to Carles Martínez’s ears, but perhaps not those of fellow strikers Christian Kofane and Victor Boniface.
Young forward Kofane has netted twice himself so far this season, but will find it difficult to displace the Czech goal machine if his hot streak persists.
Next up for Schick & Co. will be a trip to Mainz, where they'll hope to build on their second win of the season.
