RB Leipzig's Assan Ouédraogo sidelined until March
RB Leipzig have confirmed that attacker Assan Ouédraogo is expected to be sidelined until the end of March after sustaining a knee injury earlier this month.
Ouédraogo damaged tendons in his left knee in Leipzig's 2-0 home win over Freiburg on Matchday 17 and was replaced by Antonio Nusa in the 60th minute.
The club revealed that he had undergone extensive medical examinations in recent days, and that he will now receive conservative - rather than surgical - treatment.
The 19-year-old has been enjoying a breakout campaign in Germany's top flight, registering three goals and as many assists in 12 appearances.

So impressive has he been, that he also earned a maiden call-up for the senior Germany squad, even finding the net on his debut in World Cup qualifying against Slovakia in November 2025.
“The injury to Assan was genuinely a shock for us, especially after he had fought his way back into the team in recent weeks," said Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
"His development this season has been extremely positive so far, and his debut for the national team was absolutely deserved and impressive. Naturally, we are keeping our fingers crossed that he returns to the pitch quickly and, above all, fully recovered. Assan knows that he will receive our full support during this difficult period.”
