The striker has made 14 appearances for Forest across all competitions this season, scoring twice.

He will now link up with fellow forward Younes Ebnoutalib, who also arrived at Frankfurt this month from promotion-chasing Elversberg

"With Arnaud Kalimuendo, we are signing a striker who, despite his young age, has already played at a consistently high level in Ligue 1," said Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche.

"He combines pace, runs in behind, and finishing ability with a very high work rate off the ball. Crucially for us, he fits in very well with our team, not only in terms of his playing style but also his character. Arnaud has the ambition to develop further, and we are convinced that he will find an environment here where he can fully realise his potential."

Kalimuendo first made his name in his native France, after impressing during two loan stints at Lens from Paris Saint-Germain.

His form there earned the young striker a permanent move to Rennes, where he scored 34 goals in 93 Ligue 1 games across a three-year period.

A transfer to Nottingham Forest would follow in 2025, although opportunities to showcase his talent have been few and far between in the Premier League this season.

Alongside his club experience, the 23-year-old also represented France at the 2024 Olympic Games, and has played 33 times for the nation's U21 side.

With Jonathan Burkardt still not back to full fitness, Kalimuendo will likely be called upon in the coming weeks, as Frankfurt look to get off to a strong start in 2026, starting at home to Borussia Dortmund in Friday night's return to action.
