Aleksandar Pavlović to miss Freiburg clash through injury

Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović will play no part in the Matchday 7 trip to Freiburg with a calf problem. The Germany international joins the likes of Manuel Neuer, Luis Díaz and Jamal Musiala on what is a growing list of first-team injuries for Der Rekordmeister.

So far this season, Pavlović has started each of Bayern's six prior Bundesliga outings, but the 22-year-old's streak came to an end against Freiburg, after picking up the calf complaint in training midweek. It is so far unclear as to how long he will be out.

Incidentally, this leaves assistant head coach Aaron Danks, who will take charge for the Matchday 7 outing in Vincent Kompany's medical absence, with a personnel puzzle to unpick. Not least because Pavlović forms one half of a formidable midfield partnership with Joshua Kimmich, who is unavailable due to a family bereavement. Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is also unavailable.
