Full-time: Gladbach 4-6 Frankfurt

What a ridiculous game of football! Frankfurt flew into a stunning 5-0 lead at the break before adding a sixth just after half-time after playing some truly sumptuous football. Dino Toppmöller then decided to make a few changes, and suddenly it was a completely different game as Frankfurt became the side unable to defend. This led to Gladbach pulling back four goals for the game to finish 6-4.

One final consolation goal

Ranos makes the result look almost reasonable as he heads home from a lovely lofted cross from Scally. What a bonkers football match!

Still some football to be played here, although a Gladbach comeback remains rather unlikely.

Unbelievable!

What a weird second half this is turning out to be. Gladbach make it 6-3. They couldn't, could they? Engelhardt pounces on a loose ball in the box to stab home. There is a lengthy VAR check for offside, but in the end, the goal is given.

The hosts pull another goal back through Tabaković. The striker gets his head on a corner and directs the ball home. Still quite some way to come back though.

Dōan and Chaïbi work a nice short corner before the latter unleashes a curling effort towards the far post that bounces clear off the woodwork.

Better from the hosts

Santos is forced into two saves in quick succession as he keeps out headers from Diks and Tabaković with superb agility. That's better from the hosts.

The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
To say this game has been one-sided is a big understatement.

Half-time: Gladbach 0-5 Frankfurt

An unbelievable half of football! Gladbach have been woeful and Frankfurt magical. Everything has been clicking for the visitors as Uzun, Chaïbi, and co have looked simply unplayable. That half-time whistle couldn't come soon enough for the hosts, who are set to finish the weekend bottom of the table.

And now it is five!

Magical football again, but Gladbach are all over the place. Uzun slips the ball into the path of Chaïbi in the box, who produces a magnificent return flick into Uzun's path before the Turkish international hammers the ball into the top corner.

Knauff makes it 2-0!

Chaos ensues in the Gladbach penalty area after Dōan sends in a nice free-kick. After a few challenges, the ball falls back to the Japanese international, who swings at the ball, but doesn't connect cleanly.
