Trophy presentation

Gladbach's players head down the tunnel as Bayern's gather inside on the steps. For the Foals, a distant dream of European qualification is over for this season. For the hosts, a Meisterschale is on its way as the stage is set up in the middle of the pitch.

Full-time: Bayern 2-0 Gladbach

Harry Kane and Michael Olise score the goals to help the newly-crowned champions wave goodbye to the Allianz Arena for 2024/25 with a win, but the fans only want to chant Thomas Müller's name, and who can blame them. It's a fitting home send-off for a player who has brought so many memories to this ground in a Bayern shirt.

Farewell, Thomas Müller

The stadium announcer shouts out Danke Thomas and the fans raise their arms as one. Thomas Müller makes his way from the field, to be replaced by Serge Gnabry. Will the Allianz Arena ever see the likes of this man again? A guard of honour forms as Müller leaves the home stage.

Fans want Müller goal

The chants are ringing around the stadium, pleading for a Thomas Müller goal on his last competitive appearance at the Allianz Arena as a Bayern player. The hosts are doing their best to give the Raumdeuter the best possible send-off.

Good move

Bayern spread the ball: Sané to Kane to Olise and back across for Müller, whose shot is deflected over.

Josip Stanišić limps out of the contest to be replaced by Aleksandar Pavlović. Bayern also bring Leroy Sané on, with Kingsley Coman making way.

Kick-off!

Here we go

Tributes aside, there's a game of football to be played in Munich today and we're all set to go.

Dier honoured

It's a big day too for Eric Dier, who will be signing off for the rekordmeister at the end of the campaign. The English defender takes the applause of the crowd.

All eyes on Müller

The Bayern and Bundesliga legend steps out with his side ahead of his 750th appearance for the Bavarians and his last competitive game at the Allianz Arena for the hosts. Emotions are high.

Teams in tunnel

Time for the high-fives and back-slaps as both sides gather inside the tunnel at the Allianz Arena. We're edging ever-closer to kick-off.

Party atmosphere

The Allianz Arena is - as you'd expect - bouncing ahead of kick-off, as the recently-crowned champions go through their pre-match warm-up. There is a Meisterschale to lift in a couple of hours, but will Bayern be doing so having won here, or will the hungry Foals temper the mood a little? We're soon to find out!
camera-photo

Post-match ceremony

Bayern will be presented with the title - their 33rd of the Bundesliga era - after today's game. It'll be the 13th time Müller gets his hand on the prize - also a record.

More on those teams

Neuer's back for Bayern after two months on the sidelines with a calf problem, while Kane returns from suspension. Raphaël Guerreiro, Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman also start, with Jonas Urbig, Sacha Boey, Aleksandar Pavlović, Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry making way. As for Gladbach, Nico Elvedi is fit to start in central defence, but Ko Itakura misses out. Right-back Stefan Lainer and midfielder Philipp Sander are preferred to Joe Scally and Rocco Reitz, respectively.

Table talk with Honorat

"For us players, it's important mentally to finish the season in the best league position that we can," said Gladbach winger Franck Honorat before the game. "If we do that then we would have made positive steps as a team, so we do not want to end up in the bottom half. We need to work in order to remain in the top half of the table and possibly even climb a place or two."
camera-photo

Top Tim

Tim Kleindienst is fourth in this season's Bundesliga scoring charts, with 16 goals. Only Peter Meyer (19 goals, 1967/68) and Harald Nickel (20 goals, 1979/80) scored more in their debut campaigns as Gladbach players.

Watch: Bayern 0-3 Gladbach - highlights

Alassane Pléa was on target as Gladbach ran out 3-0 winners at the Allianz Arena back in October 2018. It remains the Foals' biggest win in Munich.

One for the road?

Müller's faced Gladbach 30 times in all competitions, registering five goals and nine assists. There have been 14 Bayern wins across those games, seven draws and nine defeats, while his last goal in the fixture came in a 6-0 rout on 8 May 2021.

By no means a home banker

Bayern have won three in a row against Gladbach for the first time in over 10 years, but the Foals are something of a bogey team for the champions. No other club has beaten the Bavarians in the Bundesliga as often as Borussia - 28 times!

Permutations

Gladbach are still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe, but they must win here and hope that EITHER RB Leipzig fail to win OR Borussia Dortmund lose to take it to the final day. They can finish no higher than fifth, and their goal difference is also significantly inferior to both Leipzig's and Dortmund's.
camera-photo

Thomas Müller on the emotion of the day

"I'm just going to try to enjoy it. I know that it will be my last home game and that it will also be about me as an individual after the game. At best, it will be a bit separate from the sporting side of things, because we're going to the Allianz Arena to perform and celebrate the title with the fans. That's the priority for me. Of course, I also want to use the time to say goodbye to the fans in their living rooms too. Even if I don't feel like this farewell is forever, because I'm still in this world."

Gerardo Seoane on Bayern

"When you’re playing away in Munich, it’s only natural that you will have more to do defensively. It will be incredibly important for us to stay compact and keep the spaces tight. We can’t afford any lapses – they will be punished by a side with strong attacking players like FC Bayern have at their disposal. However, it’s also our clear aim to play with courage, have the ball ourselves and take on an active role in the game."

Still hope

While Bayern's title has already been wrapped up, Gladbach still have something to play for. They still have an outside chance of reaching the Europa Conference League spot, although they sit five points off with two games to play. Nevertheless, this season has seen the Foals come a long way under Gerardo Seoane, as they're 11 points better off than last season with six more still available to them.
