The 23-year-old Mali international joined from serial Austrian champions RB Salzburg on a five-year deal and is raring to go: “I’m really happy to be here. I heard a lot about this team, I know how players improve here and I didn’t need long to decide on accepting to come here.”

EMBRACING THE GRIND
Repeating their heroics from last season's marathon 50-game campaign won't be easy for Eintracht Frankfurt. Head coach Adi Hütter's frank assessment: "The question now is - where do we go from here?". A positive result on home soil against fellow European hopefuls Hoffenheim could begin answering that question.
TRAPP OPTIMISTIC
After a successful loan spell with Frankfurt last season, Kevin Trapp made the move from Paris Saint-Germain permanent by penning a five-year deal with the Eagles. "First of all, it obviously feels good the club has the confidence to offer such a long contract. I think it's just the right sign that the club is on the right path in terms of the last four or five years and if that happens again over the next five years then we'll all be happy about it."

Compare that with Hoffenheim's record of four wins in Frankfurt and the fact they scored in every single one of their away games last season, and we could be in for a treat this afternoon.
HAPPY STARTERS AT HOME
Records are there to be broken – look at Bayern Munich's draw with Hertha Berlin, which ended a run of seven straight opening-day wins for the Bavarians – but Frankfurt will be somewhat buoyed by their record of three wins from three when they have started the season at home in recent years. Their last opening-day defeat on home soil came 11 years ago, when they went down to Hertha Berlin.
EXPECTING SKOV
Hoffenheim got their man to replace the departing Joelinton in good time this summer, with the Danish league's top-scorer from last season Robert Skov signed from FC Copenhagen. The expectations in the 23-year-old forward are high and he is in line to make his Bundesliga debut this afternoon.
AWAITING DOST
Frankfurt head into this afternoon's opening-day fixture with Ante Rebic, Goncalo Paciencia and Dejan Joveljic set to lead the line, but beyond those three names, coach Adi Hütter is lacking alternatives following the departures of Sebastien Haller and Luka Jovic this summer.
That should change tomorrow, though, when former Wolfsburg forward Bas Dost is expected to sign for the Eagles from Sporting Lisbon. Unfortunately for Hütter, Frankfurt were unable to push that transfer through in time for today's game, but his impending arrival will surely serve as additional motivation for the front three, knowing their place is now on the line.
