Schalke 1-0 Darmstadt
Goals: 1-0 Sylla 9'

The Royal Blues took pole position in the Bundesliga 2 standings following a Friday-night win against a Darmstadt side whose five-game unbeaten run came to an end at the Veltins-Arena. Moussa Sylla's fourth goal of the season, scored as early as the ninth minute, was enough for the hosts to extend their winning run in the second tier to five consecutive matches and further raise hopes of the Miners' return to the top flight.

Dynamo Dresden 1-2 Paderborn
Goals: 1-0 Daferner 26’ (pen.), 1-1 Bilbija 45’+2 (pen.), 1-2 Baur 65’

Paderborn made it a club record six straight wins in Bundesliga 2 by coming from behind in Dresden. The hosts had gone ahead when Christoph Daferner converted a penalty midway through the first half, but Filip Bilbija responded in kind before the break. Mika Baur then smashed in the winner from outside the box as Paderborn move up to second place and Dynamo’s winless run extends to seven, while they also haven’t won at home in Bundesliga 2 for 14 games going back to December 2021.

Arminia Bielefeld 2-0 Elversberg
Goals: 1-0 Grodowski 17‘, 2-0 Le Joncour 28‘ (o.g.)

Pre-matchday leaders Elversberg dominated possession in the opening stages but were then punished by a lightning quick Arminia counter-attack, which was wonderfully finished by Joel Grodowski on the edge of the Elversberg box. Florian Le Joncour then gave his side even more work to do when he sliced a low cross into his own net. It was a similar story after the break, with Elversberg knocking on a resolute Bielefeld door, but the closest they came was a header from Younes Ebnoutalib, which clipped the outside of the post as they lost top spot to Schalke.

Kaiserslautern 1-1 Nuremberg
Goals: 1-0 Hanslik 45’, 1-1 Knoche 90’+3 (pen.)

Kaiserslautern dropped down a place to fifth as they were held to a draw by Nuremberg. It was the visitors who had the first real opportunity to score when Tim Drexler was brought down in the box, but Julian Justvan was not able to convert the resulting penalty. Der Club were left to rue that miss when Daniel Hanslik smashed home on the brink of half-time, and it seemed as though Kaiserslautern were going to hold on for the win. However, as full-time beckoned, Leon Robinson fouled Luka Lochoshvili in the area, earning Nuremberg their own spot-kick. This time, Robin Knoche stepped up, and he made no mistake. The outcome means both sides extend their respective unbeaten runs to three matches.

Greuther Fürth 1-4 Karlsruhe
Goals: 0-1 Schleusener 3’, 0-2 Egloff, 0-3 Wanitzek 79’, 1-3 Hrgota 90'+1, 1-4 Wanitzek 90'+5

Karlsruhe registered their fifth win of the season, and first of the month, thanks to a clinical display at Greuther Fürth. The home side went into Matchday 10 with by far the worst defensive record in the league, and Karlsruhe soon exploited that when Fabian Schleusener headed them in front after just three minutes. Lilian Egloff doubled their advantage before half-time, and Marvin Wanitzek sealed the points in the closing stages, before the teams traded late goals in stoppage time as the Clover Leaves suffered a third defeat in four games.

Holstein Kiel 1-1 Bochum
Goals: 0-1 Onyeka 55’ (pen.), 1-1 Köster 86’

Kiel winger Louis Köster scored on his senior debut for the club to earn Marcel Rapp’s team a share of the spoils against Uwe Rösler's Bochum. The visitors opened the scoring early in the second half when Francis Onyeka converted from the penalty spot following Marko Ivezić’s foul on Cajetan Lenz, but Köster nodded home Alexander Bernhardsson’s teasing delivery with four minutes remaining to rescue a point for the home side.

Eintracht Braunschweig 0-3 HannoverGoals: 0-1 Källman (32‘), 0-2 Källman (36‘), 0-3 Yokota (61‘)Red card: Yardımcı (20‘)

Hannover ended a two-game winless run to defeat local rivals Braunschweig and move up to fourth in the table. An off-the-ball scuffle between the hosts’ Erencan Yardımcı and Hannover man Boris Tomiak resulted in a red card for the former inside 20 minutes. Hannover made their numerical advantage count as No. 9 Benjamin Källman netted a quickfire brace shortly thereafter, before Daisuke Yokota secured the three points for the visitors around the hour mark with a sweetly struck volley.

Hertha Berlin 1-0 Fortuna DüsseldorfGoals: 1-0 Krattenmacher 90+6’

Maurice Krattenmacher scored his first Hertha Berlin goal in the 96th minute to give his side a narrow victory in a game of two halves. Fortuna had plenty of chances of their own in the first period, but Hertha came out the stronger after the break and eventually grabbed the winner.

Magdeburg 2-0 Preußen Münster
Goals: 1-0 Breunig 75’ (pen.), 2-0 Ghrieb 90’+2

Magdeburg ended a run of seven straight games without a win as they defeated mid-table Preußen Münster. The hosts started well and thought they had broken the deadlock through Baris Atik, but the goal was ruled out for offside. The hosts remained on top for most of the encounter, yet could not find the opener until they were awarded a penalty when Malik Batmaz caught Alexander Nollenberger, allowing Maximilian Breunig to open his Magdeburg account from the spot and end his side’s 524-minute goal drought. In stoppage time, substitute Rayan Ghrieb secured the points. Despite the win, Magdeburg remain bottom of the table, while Münster are now without victory in three outings.
